Be careful arriving hungry...they first get you with the smoke smell then the big display of meats which you will take too much of....buts that's the right way to do it. Whisky slush should also be something you try.

Miss clara here, i was visiting my daughter, but seen this place on the eating channel, & had to try it. Liked everything except the ribs, they were fatty.

I'm a lover of amazing bbq, raised in front of the coal fire by my dad. This was a hard 6 to 6.5 for me, easily forgettable except for the fact that it was pricey. Sausage had a good snap but nothing memorable after. Chicken was decent. Side of Mac and cheese was definitely shells and cheap cheese. It just felt like the story got lost over the years and Hard 8 isn't bothered with trying any more and with this economy and bbq being increasingly pricey, I'd rather give my money to the bbq trailer down the street from my mother in law. Service was kind and the best thing about the night was a gentleman who went out of his way to get us a paper bag. Ended up doctoring the leftovers at home thr next day.

Very good bbq and pricing isn't too bad either. You could smell the meats from the street. The brisket was super tender and the chicken was delicious. That chocolate pecan pie was tasty as well. The customer service was top tier. One of the better barbecue spots in the area.

Was a great meal! Staff was very friendly, offered options and explained the pay by the pound. Tables and restaurant very clean. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the DFW area!

Called in a To Go on 12/13 at 6pm and was told over an hour wait. Called back 10 min later and it was a 15 min wait. Went to pick up and they were NOT busy at all. Only 9,10 people in line so clearly the To Go girl did not want to work. The beans we picked up were individual packaged and barely had any juice so were cold by time we got home.

I normally don't like BBQ, but this place has some of the best meats I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. We come back at least once every other week, sometimes more. The only bad thing is that we almost never can find seats inside, lol. Still worth braving Texas heat for!

The BBQ is definitely very good. However, they cut the pork with the same knife as they cut the beef and chicken 🙄😬. Even though it is cooked they shouldn’t do that, cross contamination is still possible as well as if someone who’s religious beliefs do not allow them to eat pork, now they can’t eat here because of bad practices.
I am glad that someone from the Hard 8 has reached out to discuss this issue.

I have ben going to Hard 8s for many years. The food and service is always excellent. The folks at check out are friendly, always with a smile. The atmosphere is alive with people enjoying themselves. Paying the Coppell location a lunch visit next week.

There is a reason why this place has a line at All times of day. And even see people in suits getting messy with that good BBQ.

I hate having to write this. I really do. But the brisket was dry. Horribly dry. Bologna had zero flavor. Barely warm. Mac and cheese was a semi warm congealed mess. Whiskey buttermilk pie was the saving grace. Had such high hopes, but they weren’t met. Stinks too, because I live 4 states away and was really looking forward to this to wrap up a trip.

Love this place. We moved away from TX and had not been here in a few years. Still just as good as ever! Had sausage, brisket, ribs, beans, and cobbler. All delicious!
