First time at this location and as always, Hard 8 is the place to go. I've only been to the Stephenville. Location previously and this was just as amazing

I got a lot of mixed reviews from friends about Hard 8, so I had to figure it out for myself. I have come to learn that the good BBQ joints in TX usually have a line. Hard 8 has a line, but they are really good at keeping it moving.

The I have tried the brisket, sausage, pork ribs and poppers. I tried the cornbread salad, creamed corn, beans, and peach cobbler.

The brisket is by far the best thing they serve. The pork ribs are tasty as are the sausages, but the poppers can be a little dry. They're too small to just sit near heat for a long time.

The cornbread salad wasnt for me, and I liked the creamed corn, but it just is never hot enough. Its kinda room temp in that little heater cabinet they store it in. The beans are good, but they could use a little something, not sure what, but just a bit of something to take them up a notch.

The peach cobbler was tasty.

The atmosphere is fun, lots of seating, friendly staff, and for the most part its decent BBQ. I went a second time, and I am sure I will go again. It's good. It doesn't knock my socks off, but it definitely is better than what I can do, so I will be back.

Years later, it's pretty much the same. Maybe slower because the economy is terrible now in 2025.

The brisket was awesome. The coleslaw and baked potatoe are good too. Didn't try the spicy bbq sauce maybe next time. The staff was friendly and courteous.

We recently visited Dallas for a real estate conference and had the chance to eat at Hard Eight BBQ — what an incredible experience! From the moment you walk in, the smoky aroma sets the tone. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor, and the sides were just as amazing. The staff was welcoming and helpful, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is lively, authentic, and truly Texas BBQ at its best. Highly recommend Hard Eight to anyone looking for a memorable meal in Dallas

In from out of town for the weekend. My first Texas style BBQ experience and it was hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had. I got the brisket sandwich, Mac and cheese, corn and a couple of bacon wrapped chicken brush poppers.

The brisket was tender, flavorful and had a nice smoke to it. As first timers, the flow of ordering, paying etc was a little unclear but we figured it out.

This place is true barbecue through and through!

First, you order any meats you want directly out of the pit (which are then charged together by weight). You can also get some hot sides there.

Then you go inside where you get all The other sides, drinks, desserts and fixins.

I tried the turkey, brisket, and sausage and they were all delicious! The brisket was so tender! The sauce is really good too! Not too sweet, not too spicy, just right.

The fries were a little overdone but nothing I'm going to hold against them. They are kind of an afterthought anyway when you go to a place like Hard 8. 😆

Everyone is friendly, the place was clean, and there was always someone around if you needed anything.

I would recommend this over any other barbecue place I tried on this trip around Fort Worth/ Grapevine.

Hard Eight BBQ is straight-up BBQ heaven! 🔥🍖

The brisket? Melt-in-your-mouth tender with that perfect smoky bark and juicy flavor that just keeps you coming back for more. The sausage is packed with bold, savory spice and that perfect snap when you bite in — absolute perfection. 🌭

But the star that blew me away? The bacon-wrapped shrimp. 🤯 Smoky, crispy bacon hugging perfectly cooked shrimp — every bite was a flavor explosion. Sweet, salty, smoky, savory… all in one.

On top of the killer food, the atmosphere is pure Texas — lively, down-home, and full of energy. From the moment you walk in, you smell that smoke rolling and you just know you’re in the right place.

Hard Eight isn’t just BBQ, it’s an experience. If you’re anywhere near Dallas, do yourself a favor and GO. Your taste buds will thank you. 🙌
