We visited La Playa By The Bay for the first time. The music was 80th retro which was good. Staff were very nice. But when it comes to food, it was very disappointing. I ordered a fajitas taco with avocado. The lady asked me do you want lettuce, tomato and cheese. I never heard of a fajitas taco having lettuce and tomato. We went in on a Wednesday night about 30m before closing 😅 & the owner, who only had one waiter (already serving another table for 10+, and two booths) for the night, served us. We were a table of 15 and he did look overwhelmed when we walked in but we were greeted with respect and professionalism and let us know upfront that they were short-staffed. Waitress would not give menu and could not give info on items. Did not check up unless flagged down and took very long time for any refills in empty restaurant. Confrontational when she got order wrong and upcharged to include a single tortilla with an order of fajitas, but didn't even bring tortillas until fajitas were already cold. Items brought out to each party far enough apart that each party was done before others ever got food.
