La Playa Mexican Cafe

I use to all the time but now it seems to be no love in food! Nachos aren't same anymore tacos either...I use love this place...smh

Chips were bad, nachos were very very greasy , queso was American cheese and congealed almost as soon as she placed it down. Sooooo bad... Will not be back. Food was very over priced..

Can't say it was a good experience. Eaten here in the past and it was great! But recently it wasn't so. The waitress was very nice. The place was not busy at all. It was Sunday around 5pm. They had live music outside. They were short staffed. The food tasted like left overs we had chickenand beef fajitas. My kids chicken strips had pieces of tin foil in it. My tortillas were rock hard, again tasted like leftovers. The chips and salsa were good though. I'd suggest paying your employees more. Perhaps then you could actually keep employees or entice people to apply. I own a welding business and I pay my employees very well. They show up with a smile and do great work. I tipped the waitress decently even though the experience was no good. Good luck I don't see this restaurant lasting much longer.

Just ate here, service was bad, no communication, the tortillas had a bad smell n taste to them, the meat didnt taste like meat, there was flies everywhere, all over our food, and very over priced, for 2 plates was $31 .

Last two times I’ve been here food tasted stale and old. Not like it use to be. Air conditioner still not working? Hot. I should have taken a picture of the meat in the stuffed avocado. Gross!!!

Worst place ever do not waste your time and money. Microwave food, and the owner is really rude. Went out with the family for dinner on a trip to Corpus Christi. Everything is seem fine after us into the food start coming out someplace were coming out before other plates and people had to wait. For their food when we’re all together did not make any sense. My little girl was The last person to get her plate. Over priced..

Stopped in here Saturday 5/28. Parking lot had two cars mixed reviews but we said let’s do it. Service was great and the food was pretty good. I always look for smaller places when out of town and this one was a good one. Sad to see it so empty. Would definitely go back.

Restaurant was very hot, their air condition is not working. Rice tasted like soap. When waiter was informed he played it off like it was not important. Instead he was quick to talk back. Over all not going back again.

We drive from San Antonio just to get their tarasco fish.. But, yesterday must have been a bad day cause , they sat us and forgot about us.. they say 4 more tables and did serve them....Unfortunately, we had to go toOur second choice.. The U&I packed but well served... maybe next time.

Definitely not what it used to be. We used to come here often and then we stopped, but remembered that we should go! Mistake, our fajitas were dry. My enchiladas had cubed, not shredded chicken. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Our appetizer was delicious and so were our drinks, but we shouldn't have ordered dinner. The restroom was dingy. We wondered why the place was so empty on a Saturday evening...we realized why. We won't go back.

The food was very bland and frankly not very good. Guacamole was just a smashed up avocado Service was good and the waiter was nice enough..

Bad service, regular quality food The food quality is just okay, not good or excepcional but not bad. The service is bad at all, be patient and don’t expect quality service.

I had the frozen margaritas and the white queso with chips and salsa. Then shared the stuffed avocado with beef fajita plate that was delicious. And a stuffed chicken plate that was stuffed with shrimp and crawfish tails and cheese and topped with a wonderful sauce. It was all wonderful and made even more so enjoyable because of our server Now. Make sure to have him serve you and you won't be disappointed. It was a great experience being in there for that day having traveled from Houston.

Good food, llively atmosphere! Delicious Tex-Mex food and generous portions. Chips were accompanied by a red salsa with a bite to it, and a green mild tomatilla sauce that had a hint of creaminess. We tried the beef fajita stuffed avocado and the chicken fajita stuffed chili relleno - both were good. A bit too loud for conversation as it was Friday night, and there was a large Mariachi group strolling through the restaurant.
