“Portis Kountry Kitchen is hands-down one of the best spots for true Southern comfort food. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The meatloaf was absolutely amazing—tender, flavorful, and smothered in just the right amount of sauce. Every bite felt like it was made with love. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home cooking, this is it. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“I flew into town for a week and pre ordered meals to avoid fast food places while in town and I’m very happy I did!!! Chef Tony absolutely killed it everything I ordered was delicious and I ate like a king in my hotel room all week for much cheaper than going out to eat everyday. 100% will be ordering again the next time I’m in town!!“

“We were here the week before Labor Day last year, in 2024. It was our 1st time in Corpus Christi and we just happened to see it from the bridge and decided to try it out. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the view was amazing! Out of all the restaurants we tried while we were there, Doc’s had the best food! We fell in love with Corpus Christi and Doc’s is definitely on our to do list the next time we come back!“

“Used to pass this place so many times growing up, never went until a couple of days ago. It’s so good! It’s pricey but very well worth the price. The atmosphere is everything you would expect and is authentic. The staff are very friendly and patient. They offer many different burger options and I think they’re the best on the island (sorry Whataburger). Highly recommend, the bar has beers on tap which is a plus!“

“Fantastic Angus Burger - and well priced too. The Fries were PERFECT; hot, thick and spiced just right. I can’t believe this place wasn’t packed; it’s right on the Gulf in the Holiday Inn. Lupita was an excellent server too! I’ll be back!!“

“Fair warning, if you ask for an unsweetened Tea they will not bring a spoon to mix anything you'll add to it (so I used the knife). The tea was nothing too special. The salsa's were good and the Carne Guisada wasn't to go out of your way for. But the one thing I didn't take a picture of was the Street Tacos, which came with beans. Thlse tacos are worth trying from here.“

Here today; gone TAMALE! Best tamales in town (so far). These sell out fast prior to holidays, especially Christmas. Regular pork are our favorites. Spicy are too hot. Just the perfect balance of masa & meat filling. Only tamales sold here (not a restaurant) & priced right. Sold by the dozen for pick up only.“
