I thoroughly enjoyed and was a regular at the San Antonio location. The food and service was always amazing. When it shut down, I was disheartened, but learning of the Corpus location, I will be visiting when given the chance.
I am a huge fan of "soul food" if you are looking for homemade country cooking this is the place. Pappy greats you with a huge smile. Then describes all the items on the hot bar making you want to get one of everything. I was craving fried pork chops not on the menu that did not matter to pappy he said give me a minute and I will cook you some!! I did steel a bite of my spouse smothered pork chop (so tender you could eat with a spoon) I will be back here for sure.

Best food around. It is all homemade from scratch and no one can beat the taste. This down to earth food. Pappy Gs is the only place to go to get the home cooking you got when you were a child.
