I don't normally write reviews but I use Yelp all the time and that's exactly how I found this lovely cafe. I thought it was time I paid back and did a review of my own. This is a wonderful hidden gem for Corpus. Actually felt more like being in Austin. I had some trouble finding it, but so happy I did. TIP: the cafe is located inside Auvil's Sweet Nothings. Wonderful welcoming eclectic atmosphere. My hummus wrap and tomato basil soup were perfect and so fresh! Ricci is the hostess, chef and owner! Everything is made fresh by her personally, as you order, so you must be patient. But so worth the wait! This is not fast food, it's real food with real ingredients! While waiting I enjoyed some great organic french pressed coffee and wonderful conversation with other friendly patrons. It is a very laid back atmosphere, no one is rushing you out the door. You could also browse around the antique shop while there. I will be back to try many other menu items (vegan and gluten free items also available). I wish you much success Ricci, Corpus Christi needs more places like Peony's.

A friend and I stopped in for lunch. We had noticed a sign on the door of the antique store a few weeks ago and made a point to go back. We were very happy with the service and the delicious food. Ricci is sweet and attentive. There are not very many tables but that was not a problem. We both looked over the menu and decided to try the special of the day. I had a NY bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. It was delicious and satisfying, my friend had the hummus wrap and loved it. They both came with a generous helping of tomato basil soup and a few cherry tomatoes on the side. The soup was delicious and filling. I enjoyed lunch so much I went back on a Saturday to try a different lunch special. I was a little disappointed to see the lunch specials were the same as on Thursday. I was going to order off the menu but decided to have the bagel/soup combo again. Chicken and dumplings were going to be ready in about 20 minutes but I didn't have any more time to wait other than the time for Ricci to prepare my plate. I called in an order for chicken and dumplings to go. I thought it would make a great dinner. I was very happy with the chicken and dumplings. They were tasty and tender. I will be back!

Always like trying local eateries . I had the garden burger and tomato basil soup. Both full of flavor. The chicken dumpling was special of the day which my son ordered. It came with a wonderful focacia bread. He was very pleased. We took a piece of lemon blueberry cake to go. Will definitely be back. Ricki was our waitress and cook and she did it with such ease. What a pleasant experience. I will be back.

It's very small, quiant, but will pleasantly suprise you in the best way. At first, we wondered if they were open. It's was a little difficult to tell when we entered from the back of the building. You can also enter from the front through Auvil's Sweet Nothings which is probably easier if there's enough parking. The food is absolutely delightful, though, and the owner, Ricci is very friendly and hospitable. She was very attentive to us and we enjoyed talking with her very much, just as much as enjoying her delicious food. I definitely reccomend Peony's place for anyone looking for something intimate, fresh, and different and who also believes in supporting our local economy.

Excellent ingredients and a passion for good food should lead to much success for this place! My husband and I had lunch at Peony's place today. I had the special which was corn chowder with a freshly baked roll seasoned with rosemary and a dinner salad. The corn tasted like it had been freshly cut from the cob, the roll was excellent, and the salad was all fresh with multiple ingredients and dressed with an excellent extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice. So good!! My husband had the vegan meatball wrap. It also was excellent! The owner, Ricci, was very charming.

This place really should be higher on the list for vegan food in Corpus. Some friends and I went recently and it was freaking fantastic. The burger buns were sprouted whole grain and many things seemed to be made from scratch. It's also nestled inside an adorable vintage shop. I will be back if I find myself in Corpus again.

This place is amazing!!!!! Had such a great first experience definitely willing to drive 161 miles to come back very soon! I had the Veggie burger w/ side of Citrus Avocado, it was perfect. If you come here which you should, please don't forget to order dessert. :'-)

I had went there a few times with my kids . she is not kid friendly. anybody who has kids know they make a mess when they eat. especially 2 and 3 year Olds. she was talking about my kids begins my back about the table cloth being dirty after we left. Let's see? sauce on pizza next to a white table cloth? how rude of this woman. I will never go back there. you have something to say then say it to my face and if you can't handle kids coming in there them advertise adults only. don't go blabbering negative stuff about people who spend good money at your restaurant. you are not reasonably priced so I think you need all the business you can get. I will not return and I will advertise your negative comments to my friends so they know who you truly are.

I have never been so happy to have just come upon a place like this. Ricci is beautiful, kind, and such a delight to talk to. The food here is incredibly delicious, and the word "fresh" isn't an understatement. The citrus cherry tomatoes are to DIE FOR. But so is the vegan marinara wrap. And also the fruit. And the tea. Don't miss out on this great little hole in the wall. I have no doubt I'll be back again and again. Thank you Ricci for showing me the kindness you did today. You don't know how much I needed it.

My wife and I arrived at the restaurant around 130 in the afternoon. We were greeted, awkwardly seated, and ordered within 5 minutes. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant. I asked for tap water, and was told they only had bottled water for $1.50. I pointed to the water dispenser and was told that was only for their tea. When we ordered our food, we were told it would take a bit because there was a call in order ahead of us. "A bit" was 45 minutes. We ordered a wrap and a veggy burger. 45 minutes! The fake meatball wrap was decent and the veggy burger was good. But the service and timeliness was deplorable. That's why this gets a 2

Excellent organic food. Made when you get there. Pre-order even if you are dining in.

Great coffee, love the taste. Yelp is acting up, trying to post this and yelp says it's too short so I'm just babbling so i can post this and move on!

Had an amazing lunch. The vegan meatball wrap gets two thumbs up! Had to try the citrous avocado, which was delicious too. Fresh fruit was fresh, as in, cut for me after I ordered. Very tasty place. Vegan friendly too.

While there is a cool hippie vibe in the place, they seem to have forgotten that restaurant's exist to feed people. It was the slowest service on earth. With people at only 1 other table, it took 10 minutes for anyone to talk to me. Then, 30 minutes after I ordered I gave up and left without eating. Pretty sad.

My lunch was awesome. Pork roast with cheese and an EGG! Sprouted whole grain bread, toasted with mushrooms and arugula. Side of citrus avocado! Excellent combination of flavored! Checked in on Yelp and received a free cookie!!
