Great food, incomparable views. Be ready to spend time and money. The service is slower paced so don't go if you're on a schedule.
We had heard so many great things about Republic of Texas and we finally had the opportunity to visit. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. The $81 24oz bone-in ribeye cooked medium was dry, tough and had zero flavor. The sides were also mediocre. The positives- the bread they brought to table and the crab cake were yummy. The view of the bay was nice and service was ok. When we arrived for our 5:30 reservation that I had made months ago, I asked if we could sit by the window and they said no you had to request beforehand- mind you the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

I expected great lamb chops! They were cooked perfectly but were plainly tough. Sense they were quite large, I suspect they were mutton chops not lamb chops. Quite a bit of gristle as ribs could not be separated. A special Anniversary so I didn't raise the issue
$81 ribeye was dry & had no flavor. Sides were mediocre. Not impressed with food. Atmosphere was nice & our waiter did a good job.
Great food! Waitress could have used a little more training on handling food allergies and communicating that to the kitchen but she still did good overall. There was a live band and where we sat was good for noise but could be noisy at times.
This review includes my latest service as well as previous services. The ambience, food, setting, etiquette is the best in Corpus. I am always impressed. Additionally, once reason I choose Republic of Texas is to impress my guests. My guests are young adults entering into their careers. I want them to see the difference in quality and experience a return on investment. I want to show them that Republic of Texas dining is a goal they should shoot for. They don't have to continue to go to Republic of Texas, but they should make it their goal to be able to go to the Republic of Texas. I want them to feel that the value they create is worth my investment in them.
Great food and a nice view of the city! My favorite place to go for a nice meal

We visited to celebrate our engagement with friends, and we couldn’t have felt more welcomed. The atmosphere was warm, the experience memorable, and the food exceptional. After a long, exciting day, the meal truly was the cherry on top. Each dish offered beautiful flavors that kept us eating well past the point of being full.
Our server, Nik, was the highlight of the evening. His attentiveness and genuine care elevated the entire experience, turning a great dinner into an unforgettable one. We left blown away by both the service and the cuisine, and we’ll definitely be returning—ready to clear our plates once again.

Delightful, it was delicious and you felt like you got a good steak for a perfect price. I will say I have spent more on life changing steaks but I felt like this steak and ambiance was well worth it. If it was more expensive it wouldn't feel like it but overall I was very happy with this restaurant and especially the views.

Amazing service and wonderful food. We were celebrating a retirement and they even brought out a special dessert
1 star for the entire experience!
We were here to celebrate my girl's birthday, I never, personally would have chosen this place.
I made an 8:30pm reservation & still had to wait.
Once we were finally seated at our table the entire experience went downhill.
The only thing that was done correctly was the request to be seated at a table with an ocean view.
We ordered our dinner and salads to start, well it took over 15 minutes just to bring out the salads, this was a precursor of what was to come, or not.
We finished our salads and bread and waited another 15 minutes and still no entrees.
Well it's sad to say that after an hour and 15 minutes later, still no entrees.
It was now 9:45pm and by now,3 loafs of bread later and only eating the dinner salads, we were ready to leave.
It was only then that the server said, let me go check on the entrees, after I told her that we were ready to leave and to just bring out my bill. She became contentious and said, you'll have to take that up with my manager because we were about to bring out the entrees, almost an hour and a half later. She wanted to argue with me about leaving due to the poor service and the long wait for the entrees.
The brought out my bill which was for the salads and drinks, 32.00 and I was told that this was all I was going to pay because we were never served our entrees.
Well when the manager brought out my credit card, I noticed that she ran it for about 112.00 for entrees which were never served and entrees that we never ate.
I showed the manager the initial bill of 32.00 and asked why she processed my card for 112.00 she admitted to making a mistake, I didn't sign the receipt for 112.00, she did correct the mistake and I did pay for what we ate
Here's the icing on the cake, there was another table of 6 people sitting next to us, also celebrating a birthday. They were being asked to leave because they were complaining about their service as well.
All I can say is that they ruined our birthday celebration and that I personally won't ever go back to this restaurant. I personally wouldn't recommend it it to anyone that I know.
So here is my personal ratings.

Great birthday dinner for my wife. Food and service were top notch. Great place to watch sunset and port.
Oysters were undercooked chewy and not very flavorful some type of cheese crust on there that made it very crumbly and hard to eat , scallops were very, very salty., noodles hard undercooked, and grilled shrimp, salty . The overall food experience, was very disappointing never has this happened to me before at this restaurant For the money I spent waste . I did not send anything back, but was very disappointed and probably not go back. On a positive drinks were amazing and waiter Nick was phenomenal .
