we had lunch at BBQ man based on reviews. It is 3rd generation family. Looked like all locals there. We had brisket sandwiches. They have a relish bar, with the best pico I even had.

Whewhyyy! A great bbq joint! This is BBQ Woody. Finally got around to coming in before I leave the Coastal Bend. Heard good comments aboit the llace and seen it off the hiway since Oct. What agreat place you all got there and learned that it is 50 yrs old...congrats for your successful longevity. The place is 60s inside and love the classic furniture and atmosphere. I forgot to ask if u all had cornbread and/or Tx toast. Ok, so i got my usual S. Tx meal, pork ribs and sausage....not a big beef guy. Got the S. Tx pinto beans and homemade potato sald. I make 2 taste observstions for ribs and sausage..one for meats with exterior flavors and one for meats with no exterior flavors. Your meats are very conseevstive traditional S. Tx meats. Your rub is very subtle almost non flavor...BUT..your bbq sauce is the perfect combo fornyour meats. With the smoky flavpr on your tongue and the perfect taste and smell of the bbq sauce your meats are a hit of deliciousness. Ibwill rank your S. Tx beans in the top 5 in Tx that i have had. The pot salad is too simple and just a suggestion: maybe try some bacon in it. The serving size of 'famous' 'nanna puddin' is perfect after a 2-meat meal. I think the puddin is the best i hv had in S. Tx. Thnx y'all for the great lunch experience. There isnt really much military around northside or i wld suggest u thinking about adding military discount,,,but no big deal. Thnx BBQ Woody

The 2 meat turkey & moist brisket sandwich is juicy & DELICIOUS... Didn't even need to add bar b q sauce...

The turkey and brisket were very flavorful and not dry at all. I loved their BBQ sauce and dont get me started on their banana pudding! It was amazing! My family and I will definitely be back.

I had ordered the family style catering service with the ribs and brisket for my wedding and was not disappointed. They were 15 minutes early with hot food and helped us get everything set for the buffet style. Very friendly and on top of things and the price was fantastic. Brisket and ribs are generally hit or miss at a lot of places and let me tell you, it was a HIT. Juicy fall apart brisket and tender ribs. The portions they gave us were also large. Would highly recommend for any event. Thank you again!

Food was great, but the interior of restaurant was dark, old, and dated.

I can't see why this restaurant got high reviews. The staff is friendly and efficient. The brisket, ribs, sausage and chicken were delicious. Their barbecue sauce is so good you could drink it. The sides were okay. The staff was attentive and ensured our drinks were full. I highly recommend and will definitely return.

I don't usually share reviews but I had such a great experience here! EVERYONE was so kind! Especially Jasmin and I believe his name was Ronald. I had the brisket and the ribs, beans, and banana pudding. The brisket was my favorite especially because I got the fatty piece! When I got to work, everyone was asking me for a plate lol . I'll be sure to come back with my family.
