Great place for a Cajun bite in Corpus.Margherita was well made, and the crawfish etouffe was top notch. Deep levels of rixh flavor, with plenty of crawfish.Staff were friendly, but my wife's meal arrived waaaay later than mine. The place misses four stars only because of that. We'll be back, though. Recommend checking this place out.
The food is good. The drinks are delicious. I have gone about 4 times already. They do have a large variety of seafood options on their menu.
My girlfriend order the stuffed shrimp. The quality of them was alright. I ordered the Tilapia which was pretty good. The service could’ve been better. Our waitress was nice but when we came in it was pretty empty and she only came to our table when she served us and when we finished. If you like half and half sweet tea/lemonade it’s really good here.
Food and service were both really good. Meal started with freshly fried whole tortillas that you break into your own chips. These are accompanied by two different squeeze bottles of sauces you can squirt right into your chips.I had the fried flounder filet which has a wonderfully crispy and flavorful batter. My dining companion had the Refugio Platter. I sampled a couple small items off of it and it was also really good. Their shop makes an amazing cocktail sauce.
Great service! Our waiter was awesome! He took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Our first time was great! The menu has many options to choose from. You won’t be disappointed in the taste or quality of the food. The portions were huge also. We will definitely be returning
Our waitress was coming over to check on us often! Loved the good customer service he provided! The food was delicious the plates are HUGE! Our order was out quick did not even take more then 20 min compared to other seafood restaurants we’ve been too!. Super delicious will stop by again on our second trip to corpus.****NOT EVEN EXPENSIVE!!!! For a delicious dinner!!
I had a fillet of fish with 4 shrimp and fries. (Sorry no pic) did drink water only with the meal. The batter on the fish was a little salty could of been less. Drank 3 glasses of water to keep the taste decent. Been here before with a good variety I can't say I won't be back. But will try another meal. Also some Mexican dishes are on the menu. Great wait staff also.
This place looked promising, but I had a very bad experience. While we waited for our order, we were hassled twice: someone selling banana bread and someone wanting money from us. Who lets people do that in a restaurant? Ordered bowl of gumbo and the fajita skillet. For being a gumbo place, this was the worst gumbo I've ever had. It was watery, the shrimps were like flavorless rubber, the chicken was overcooked into oblivion and there was not a piece of sausage to be found. The fajita skillet was fine at best, nothing spectacular. The fried mushrooms were the best part, the breading was nice and the flavor was good. Live music was pleasant for the 5 minutes the man played. Our server was also fine. Don't give this place a shot, if you want seafood, head to Blackbeard's. If you want gumbo, head to Razoos. I haven't tried their gumbo, but I guarantee it's better than this. In fact, go anywhere else, other restaurants wouldn't let people hassle you for money.
I have had vastly better shrimp at Boat & Net and Long John Silvers. It had a weird, overly firm texture that was more chicken-like than shrimp should be, and it didn't even really taste like shrimp. Had it not come tail-on, I wouldn't have believed it even WAS shrimp. Our waiter was friendly, polite and attentive, the place was very close to empty, and the bathroom had signs instructing patrons to NOT put toilet paper in the barely flushing toilets. The clearly-from-frozen garlic toast was tasty, though, so there's that. Won't be back.
The plate I ordered didn't specify the fish it came with. Well, it was catfish ??. I didn't care for the cornmeal coating but the Seafood gumbo was good! Pero el servicio era 5 estrellas!!! Regresaré otro día a probar el Caldo de Mariscos!

A diverse menu with fantastic food.
My wife and I stopped here on our way through and were blown away. I was initially turned off by the "Gumbo" name, but we ended up eating off their Mexican selection. My wife had a Texas plate, with cheese enchiladas, carne guisada, rice, beans, guacamole, and I had a plate with beef, chicken, sausage, rice, beans, grilled veggies. Both plates were huge, delicious, and inexpensive... total bill about $24. Our server Marina was awesome, making the overall experience great at this small town eatery.
Really good food and awesome service.
Never a disappointment! Always so clean plus the staff is so friendly and helpful!!
First time eating here. I had the gumbo and fried fish. My wife had the fish and shrimp. The gumbo was good, but I found it to be lacking a little spice. I added hot sauce to it and it made it much better. The shrimp and fish were breaded the same. I liked the breading which was light and tasty. Service was prompt and attentive. Over all a good first impression.
