We went for lunch as a pretty big group, and the experience was amazing!
The server and chef were both friendly, and the chef was very impressive at his job! (As someone who’s never experienced teppanyaki before this trip, everyone should try it at some point.) The food tasted excellent and was very well cooked, and the prices (though I can only speak for lunch) were very good, considering the experience and portions offered.
I have absolutely no complaints, and will likely be back for more!

We have been coming here for years and over the years the food has become progressively worse. We like the placement of the location and sometimes we want sushi, so we chose to go today. We will never return. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids (2 of our kids are under the age of 10). We ordered 1 dinner, 3 appetizers, 2 sushi rolls and 2 drinks. Our total came to $200! When we reviewed the check we realized that they are now charging 18% gratuity on tables of 5 or more. This essentially means for our family that anytime we come we will have to pay 18% additional for our meal. We attempted to discuss it with the waitress on the way out who was very rude and dismissive. We told her we’ve been coming for years and we’ve never paid this before. She said “ok, but this is our rule now”. We explained that our table of 5 isn’t truly 5 because our youngest sitting at the table is five years old! She said “oh well, this is our rule”. We said we would not return and she said “okay, that’s fine”. Steer clear of here! Getting money in the moment is not worth losing a long term customer and we will never return. They don’t seem to care though.

Top tier . The food was hitting 🔥 . Came for lunch which was pretty decent size . Always had sushi. Saggy dog and omg rolls . First time for sushi and definitely great choice .

My wife and I have been to Taisho Japanese Bar and Grill a few times now, mainly because it’s close to home, and overall it’s a solid spot that’s worth trying.

The setting is one of the highlights. It’s located right by the lake in Towne Lake, and the layout of the restaurant is well done—nice atmosphere, good vibe. Service was also pretty good. When we arrived, we were the third couple in line and didn’t have to wait long at all, which was a plus. Drinks came out quickly, so no issues there.

Where things started to slip a bit was the pacing of the meal. After getting our soup and salad, the main course came out too fast. Because of that, it ended up sitting for a bit and wasn’t as hot as it should’ve been when we got into it.

I ordered a lemon drop martini, and honestly, the alcohol content was very light—felt more like a mix than a cocktail.

We went with the Teppanyaki Beef and Chicken. Flavor-wise, it was good overall, but the beef was ordered medium and came out closer to well done. It was a little chewy, but still decent enough to enjoy.

Bottom line—this place has a lot going for it with location, atmosphere, and generally good service. There are just a few execution gaps that keep it from being a higher rating. Still, it’s worth a visit, especially if you’re in the area.

Excellent experience at this Japanese hibachi restaurant. The portions are very generous and the food is absolutely delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the fried rice was well seasoned, the vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, and the sushi was incredibly fresh.

The service was outstanding — very attentive and friendly the entire time. The hibachi atmosphere also makes the experience fun and unique.

We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! 🔥🍣

Had the large order of Steak Fried Rice. Very small portion of steak. Meat was cooked properly but not seasoned. Rice was full of oil.
The news was on the tv at the bar. The music was some teen girl pop crap and too loud to tune out. I’m not surprised it was empty during dinner hours. Sub par and overpriced

This is my daughter's favorite Teppanyaki place. Whenever she comes home from college, this is where we come! The menu is very impressive and the chefs never disappoint. Japanese cuisine is abundant, including sushi and sashimi. Situated in the popular Towne Lake Shopping Center. I give it Five stars.
