Everything was rather bland and underwhelming. Etouffee had a strong raw flour taste. The most disappointing was the shrimp poboy, which was made using tiny little salad shrimps. I was surprised but would've been ok with it if it tasted ok. The shrimp was just so chewy and the entire sandwich bland. After a few bites in I was honestly a little bit offended. For the price, it should've been a lot better.

The Shrimp and grits are so good they will put you to sleep. Do not eat this dish if you need to remain active after eating.I met the owner and he is really nice. I placed an online order and had to rush from work to pick it up. I was little late and the restaurant was nearing closing time but he welcomed me with a smile and encouraged me to return.Photos: Gator bites, Voodoo pasta and Andouille Sausage/chicken gumbo

I wish I could give it 10 stars but I can only give it five... if it's your first time ask for the sample plate. The owner is super nice. Cool guy. Order anything off of the menu and you won't be disappointed

Pleasantly surprised. When I sat they brought out a complimentary sample platter of their gumbo/bisque/etouffe/rice. All was great. I got a bowl of seafood gumbo and crab legs. The gumbo was delicious and crab legs good too. Owner walked around making small talk with guests. Server was attentive as well. If I didn't live in Amsterdam 90% of the year I would come here often! Great place.

This was a mixed experience. I think they were understaffed. The place wasn't full. And yet, we had to wait a very long time every step of the way. 10min for drink order. Another 15 til the food order. Then 30+ minutes to get our first appetizer. A few more min for one of us to get a gumbo app, then 5 more before the 2nd gumbo app came out. Then it was another 10-15 to get our main dish. Service issues aside, the food was very good. The seafood gumbo had great flavor. But there seemed to be little to no actual seafood in it. And they filled the tiny bowl with a huge ball of rice so it was mostly rice. Which sucks because the flavor really was excellent. The main dish, Redfish Bellvielle, was damn good. Perfectly cooked and blackened and the sauce was really tasty. Total time spent here for two people was 1 hour 40 minutes. And tha5s because we were just waiting on things most of that time. Probably only spent about 15 minutes actuly eating.

Went here tonight with a group of 8 and a toddler. The food was amazing, the staff were good, and the manager was amazing! He came over talking to us and even cracked some jokes. The toddler reached up for him to hold him and he acted like it was his own kid. Even brought us some beignets. I highly recommend this place will for sure be back!

Crawfish, fried catfish were very good.Kids popcorn shrimp is ok needs more flavor.Service is excellent but, they need to give their clients plates or something when eating crawfish napkins do not work with the mess.We did ask for them and they obliged the over all experience is very good we will be back I'm sure.Price per pound not quite 8.00. Crawfish were small just a few were big.

Food was very good. Flavors hit the spot on everything we had. French Fries where so good!!!!! Lobster bisque shrimp and grits was awesome. We got two Po boys the beef and shrimp. Both had good flavors but not enough meat at all!Gumbo and jambalaya was really good. The stuffed praline was really good. Beignet bites are okay.Kids loved the catfish nuggets. There was only two people working there though and it took about 45 minutes to get our food and then when we asked for to go box it took more than 10 minutes to get our check and it was not extremely busy during lunch time. Are waitress was really nice but there's definitely time. Where you could tell she was frustrated being the only one there because she's having to wait a very long time to get the food from the one cook so she would stand up by the kitchen.Definitely one of our favorite Cajun places and we will be back.

We ordered here because one of my coworkers recommended this place. Said it was “real Louisiana cooked food”. My sister picked up the order & it wasn’t ready, granted the gentleman was super nice to her, but the food was absolutely unacceptable. The best tasting item were they fries. The bread, fried shrimp & the beignets were STALE. The pasta noodles were EXTREMELY soggy & salty. The appetizer of shrimp was just flat out nasty. It literally felt like we just donated money to this establishment & now we’re making our own food & ordering McDonald’s smh - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. The reviews on this place are a joke.

Food is always great. Always fresh and well worth the wait. Not that it's a long wait, but fresh is always a little longer than food sitting under a heat lamp. The owner is always friendly, and Victoria was great. Very attentive and took good care of us. I had the Cat-toufee, and it was very unique. Fish is probably my favorite as it's not a heavy corn meal breading, rather a bit lighter. Wife had the fried fish and shrimp. Again, very light and crispy, cooked just right. Even the okra was perfect. I think we were the most surprised with the potato salad. It had a little bit of a kick. Not too much, but just right. Love coming here, just has to be on a date night with no kids and that doesn't happen enough ? if you like good Cajun food, definitely worth the visit.
