What an overall great experience! I got the Chicken Katsu and BBQ Chicken plate with Rice and Mac Salad. The Katsu was perfectly breaded and BBQ was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and tender. Mac salad was incredible. I read previous reviews that they wish they would’ve got more than one scoop so I opted to. Only $.50 more to sub a scoop of rice for Mac salad. It was totally worth it! What an amazing place with super nice staff! Will definitely be back and bringing friends and family 😊

(Also the sauces I tried were the Katsu and Aloha sauce. They were phenomenal as well!)

Hole in the wall. Not sure why I haven’t came across here yet, but this place is pretty home style cooked food. I like the katsu.

Food is phenomenal. Hits any craving I have on any day, best Hawaiian BBQ place in Dallas by far. Getting to chat with the owner behind the counter is a real treat. He’s incredibly passionate about his product, and very friendly. Love this place.

The food is amazing. The macaroni salad is the best I've had. Everything is great, though. You can't go wrong with your selection.

The staff is nice but, this isn’t legit Hawaiian food. I’ve had authentic Hawaiian food in Hawaii and California numerous times and this just isn’t cutting it. The Kalua pork is lacking flavor but, the spicy chicken was okay. Really disappointing seeing as this place has outstanding reviews.

I have visited Dallas several times this year and have dined at this establishment on a few occasions, always promising myself that I would return—and I did today.

Once again, the meal was absolutely outstanding. Suzie, who was working behind the counter, was exceptionally kind and friendly. She provided us with an informative overview of the menu items, and it was evident that she possessed a wealth of knowledge, with over 70 years of experience in Hawaiian cuisine. Her expertise in barbecue was particularly impressive.

I ordered the Kahlúa pork with cabbage, accompanied by two side dishes: macaroni salad, which is consistently delicious, and a side of short ribs. For dessert, I enjoyed a rice butter cake. The meal was not only incredibly cost-effective but also featured generous portions fit for royalty. The exceptional service further enhanced the overall experience, making it a truly memorable meal.

Thank you! I will undoubtedly return before my departure.

Comfort homemade vibes with friendly staff

I would call this a 4. 5 stars if you have the proper expectations. The food isn't going to blow you away. It has more a homemade touch to it versus the classic restaurant overflowing with flavor and fats. So in one sense it's not as impressive, but with the excellent service you may feel at home. My wife and I got a make your own 3 combo plate and chose the BBQ chicken, BBQ short ribs, and chicken katsu. Also got spam musubi (comes in 2). The BBQ chicken easily won the night. The smokey BBQ flavor and tenderness were great. The BBQ short ribs came in next, a good mix of fatty but doesn't stand out. The chicken katsu is lighter fried than expected but still is crispy. Again doesn't stand out. The spam musubi surprisingly was disappointing. The rice was mushy and there was no sauce between the spam and rice and there was a lot of rice so the flavor to rice ratio was off. I was more forgiving and would come again to try other items since it's nearby but my wife was less so. 4 stars
