While at first the server was great, as the evening wore on misses meals and drink orders made the evening awkward. The food was good but the rush of getting the next reservation to our table was off putting.

The ambiance: 10/10. Food was pretty good, we liked the trout, good combination of textures with a nice spicy bite. Pasta was nice, but a bit bland. Wagyu steak was surprisingly chewy. Everything was ok, until they served a dessert, pineapple cake: bright orange chunks of dough, sticky, underbaked, paired with whipped something, bitter and sour at the same time. My daughter put it nicely, “it’s ok to experiment, but you don’t always have to serve it” I wish they tasted it before adding to the menu!

Seated right by the cold opening and closing door when the place was pretty empty even though I made a reservation. The thanksgiving themed drink was not pleasant to drink. The waiter kept having to be called back in the middle of leaving for us to ask for more drinks and food. He kept trying to dart asap. Overall, subpar experience for somewhere this expensive trying to be classy.
I was absolutely appalled at the lack of service and rudeness my business partner and I faced tonight at exactly 1141PM .. we walked in and were promptly told without greeting that I'm sorry they already did last call. We had arranged an Uber from the Warwick Melrose Hotel and wasted money on this ride for an extremely rude person that didn't even greet us or say hi just say sorry we already did last call. NEWS FLASH if you have posted hours than you must abide by them.. it creates a horrible guest experience. I must saying actually working in F & B for over 30 years that this is the Polar opposite of the experience you type to have when going ok. I will not be taking anyone else here ever again nor would I like to recommend my clients to any place that treats their potential guests in this way... Service was a ZERO and I'm deeply saddened by this display

Place was nice and cozy, a little hard to find if your not paying attention, it is a speakeasy. Drinks were good and strong nothing to fancy and they do offer some food options which is nice compared to other speakeasys.
The reason why it's ranked low is the customer service. We were late to our reservation by 10mins due to trying to find parking and Apothecary was nice enough to give us a courtesy call and hold or reservation once we arrive. That's the only nice this about them, once seated we were immediately hit with "Each reservation is slotted for an hour and a half, after that time you'll have to move if there's room or leave." Once our time was up, we moved to the outdoor patio where we were once again hit with "There a reservation for the table in 30mins we are going to have to ask you to move." There were 4 different empty tables, why was it important for the one we were sitting at. At point felt unwelcomed and such a burden to give them our business, we left and not coming back.

I went in on whim and was I blown away. I've seen the press about this place and it didn't disappoint. From the moment I was greeted by the manager, Amanda, to having the perfect cocktail delivered, let's have a seance, by the bartender moi who had pride in his craft, to Nancy who took care of us with waters and preparing everything for the next round. It was an experience like none other.
