Had my brother and SNL in town. I'm trying to understand how this place even exists. The hotel is Old and smells like sewage inside and out. Started out @ the Waterproof. Completely overrated nothing special about this place besides its overpriced drinks. However my reason for this post is for Bourbon & Banter. We ordered the Smoked bourbon Meatballs. When it was placed on the table. I immediately smelled dog food. I tasted a bite of the meatball and the texture of it...read full review
Before COVID we loved going to this bar. The drinks were good, the atmosphere was great, the staff was amazing. Tonight was our first time back, I've never in my life been treated as I was tonight. We met our friends for a celebration after dinner expecting a good time and great drinks. Up until our friend left everything was good. Bourbon & Banter offers a speakeasy bar atmosphere with a cozy and vibey ambiance, making it ideal for a nightcap and conversation. The bartenders provide excellent service, crafting delicious cocktails and transforming this hidden gem into a class act speakeasy. The vibe is very relaxing, with good decor and a "hidden" door that adds to its charm. The restaurant also offers a vegetarian pizza option, but food orders may take time and can be overpriced, with a limited menu from an offsite kitchen. Guests have had a great time enjoying the drinks and conversation, although there have been mentions of automatic 20% gratuity added to bills, which can be misleading. Overall, Bourbon & Banter promises a lively atmosphere and attentive service, making it a place worth visiting.
The speakeasy-style entrance, with a phone booth and a hidden door, creates a unique and enjoyable experience. Customers praise the skilled bartenders, like Jordan, who make great recommendations and craft perfect cocktails. The service and the overall atmosphere are highlighted as key strengths of Bourbon & Banter. However, some guests note the lack of waitstaff, the difficulty in finding the entrance, and the potential for high valet costs as potential downsides. Nevertheless, Bourbon & Banter is described as a great option for a speakeasy-style experience in the Dallas area.
