Café 43 is a nice restaurant located on the SMU Campus. It has a great ambiance and a reasonably priced menu. The menu is small, but all dishes appear to be interesting, with the fried avocado being a standout. The atmosphere is lovely, quiet, serene, light, and bright. The staff are very thoughtful and compassionate, providing friendly and unobtrusive service. The crab salad and Reuben are customer favorites, and the sandwiches are delicious, with one of the best being Laura Bush's Favorite sandwich. The pecan crusted chicken is also awesome. Desserts, particularly the cowboy cookies and ice cream, are a highlight. Overall, Café 43 is a cherished spot for celebrations and offers superb soups and sandwiches.
