Café 43 is a nice restaurant located on the SMU Campus. It has a great ambiance and a reasonably priced menu. The menu is small, but all dishes appear to be interesting, with the fried avocado being a standout. The restaurant is beautifully designed and has a dignified atmosphere, making it perfect for conversation and a wonderful place to take friends and out-of-town guests. The staff are very thoughtful and compassionate, eager to accommodate most any request. The crab salad and Reuben are customer favorites, and the sandwiches are delicious. The setting is serene and restful, with quick and attentive service. Desserts, particularly the cowboy cookies and ice cream, are a highlight. Overall, Café 43 is a cherished spot for celebrations and offers superb soups and sandwiches.
