When we arrived, the restaurant was presenting their intern of the week awards, so glad we arrived just in time! Brayson (spelling) was our waiter. He was a little shy at the beginning, but he was very attentive and helpful and by the end of the evening was smiling and laughing with us. He took great care of us! The food was AMAZING, the homemade breadbasket with peach preserves, the fried green tomatoes, the smoked chicken and NY strip and finally the hummingbird cake that Brayson recommended was SO GOOD! Will definitely be back! Keep up the great work Cafe Momentum!!
Excellent food and excellent concept for developing skills and opportunities for these youth. Loved the chicken and greens.
Incredible food with an even more powerful mission! My server was open about being nervous, as well as about how much they were learning. This, in addition to other young staff on the floor stepping in with such care and presence, spoke highly of the environment. You could really feel the coaching, the support, and the community in motion. Café Momentum provides more than a meal. It's a whole moment. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Dallas.
I love the concept of this restaurant and it is fun to see what they have put together in the kitchen. They are always very friendly when seating us and serving us. They act and look very professional.
So blessed to experience this. Tyson and Jaelyn were excellent servers, The food was good.
Wanted so bad for this to be a good dining experience because I understand their mission. But it was not close to being ok. Some of the food items were simply inedible. The managers was quick to apologize, then the next item would be even worse. Regardless of the mission, patrons want to enjoy their meal. Perhaps this explain why the place was empty.

Upscale New American cuisine with a social mission—staffed by youth in the justice system. Beautiful food, beautiful purpose.

Good Southern food served by young people who are in training. Overall a nice evening, but not a date night.
My latest visit to Cafe Momentum was for a specialty event dinner. The food was great, the wine pairings good, and the skills of the servers are improving with each visit. Keep up the good work.
Enjoyed dining experience. It's more about the goal of the program at the restaurant - helping young adults with life skills.

Amazing experience- we eat at a lot of great restaurants in DFW- and this easily compares with any of them! Food was outstanding- coffee rubbed carrots, fried green tomatoes- truly southern made- and vegan lasagna with cheese that tastes like cheese- all fantastic. We also tried the pasta with prawns- so good! The pasta is all made on site. The hummingbird cake was sensational. The service was excellent. This is such a worthy program with passionate leadership - the kids are so sweet and interested in what they are learning. We will be regulars no doubt- don't miss Cafe Momentum!! It really is one of the very best in DFW!
Had a great experience at Café Momentum during my short stay in Dallas. Amazing food, welcoming staff.
We had a lovely anniversary evening at Cafe Momentum! From the wait staff, to the managers, and the magnificent chef, everyone was friendly, attentive, and cared that our experience was perfect! We started with wine and shared the delicious, crispy fried green tomatoes. My husband ordered the perfectly cooked to medium rare New York strip. It was accompanied by spinach, mushrooms, and parsnips. I enjoyed the braised lamb aboard creamy horseradish grits, peas, and mushrooms. My husband loves dessert, so he ordered the warm, amazingly delicious (I had a bite) carrot cake, which was accompanied by a small scoop of seasonal sorbet. I had just the sorbet, and it was the small scoops, which was the perfect serving. We can't say enough about the greatness of Cafe Momentum, which quite recently was presented with the James Beard Award. We'll be back!
Their mission is clear, their service and food impeccable. All tips are a donation to this wonderful place. Always a pleasure!
We attended Sunday Supper with Jon Muq for our wedding anniversary and had a truly wonderful experience. It was priced reasonably as an all inclusive evening that included a three course (salad, entree and dessert) served family style at three long tables followed by a special musical performance. Our meal and the service were excellent. Beer and wine flowed generously and Jon Muq's musical performance was outstanding! But best of all, dining at Cafe Momentum supports their truly special mission of helping juvenile offenders create a new productive and crime free life for themselves. If you want to have a great meal and help transform lives, Cafe Momentum will fill your belly and your heart.
