The man that took our order was nice. The food was fine, wasn’t the best but not the worst. I would come back if I’m close by but wouldn’t drive 30 mins for it. I give it 7/10. ❤️

This was not a bad meal. It was a mediocre one. And sometimes that is worse.
Chef House sits quietly on Cedar Springs. One of those late night spots you hope might surprise you. I placed my order online. Walked in. Got exactly what I paid for. No more. No less.
No greeting. The cashier stayed on the phone the entire time. She slid the bag across the counter without a word, just a simple smile. I tipped five dollars anyway. Because you tip on the subtotal. Before taxes. Before fees. Because that is the rule. Because you still want to believe someone in the kitchen gives a damn.
The egg roll was cold. Not lukewarm. Not fading. Cold. Like it had been sitting alone for too long. The wonton soup was fine. It had heat but no soul. The shrimp lo mein came in a medium portion. The shrimp were cooked. The noodles had texture. But the flavor had gone missing. No ginger. No garlic. No depth. Just a full container of silence.
The Dr Pepper was perfect. Because it came from a can. Shout out to the Doc.
The total came to twenty nine dollars and fifty two cents. A dollar seventy five added for the convenience of a forgettable meal. (Despite it being their own website, and no DoorDash)
Chef House is not a place to hate. It is a place to forget. It does not offend. It does not inspire. It simply exists. And sometimes that is the most disappointing thing of all.
Three point two stars. Honest food with no fire.

Iain is the best
Been eating from their place for years and have never disappointed us. 5 stars all around!
Way overpriced for the quality and quantity. You have to pay $1 extra to get fried rice and $2 for xtra sweet and sour which I should have done because I only got enough for my sweet and sour chicken to cover a small portion so most of my chicken was xtra dry appeared to be overly dry due to it being old. The container it came in wasn’t even half full. I ordered an extra egg roll and didn’t even get it. For over $40 i could have went and ate at a Buffett. Super disappointed for what $40 gets you. Won’t spend my hard earned money here anymore.
Great food and stays open late!

The best food, the best treatment and by far other BEST AFTER HOURS FOOD IN THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD!!! Love this place!!! The negative reviews are obviously drunk entitled peeps!!!! Take a chance and you will not regret!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you see a review from someone who is complaining about their food not being spicy enough and then they mention that they order the same thing from here all of the time and give it 2 stars, you gotta wonder wtf they keep going back for. Anyway, that being said, for a place that caters to a loud crowd after the bars close and despite having to deal with the most obnoxious drama queens in town who expect their food on a silver platter, the food is incredible and fast, and most importantly, being the only Asian restaurant open past 9pm, they could be a lot less accommodating and serve mediocre food knowing that they are the only place open, but they serve excellent food and are very nice people who do their best for the obnoxious customers who crowd in around 2am and can barely order without falling down or fighting with each other. Basically, Chef House is fantastic, it’s some of the customers who make the experience unpleasant for not only the other customers but who are rude and obnoxious to the staff. The very patient staff I might add.
We order delicious takeout from here all the time. The food is excellent and the people always friendly. Love this place! No idea why the same people using different Google accounts keep slamming this nice place over and over trying to hurt a great local business. Food is yummy and the people very nice and kind.
Doesn’t open til 5pm 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
If you want fresh then yes the food is fresh. If you want bland then YES the food is absolutely bland. I normally order the shrimp fried rice and it comes hot and fresh but I then have to pull out my sauces and seasoning and doctor it up so that it tastes great! This time I ordered the Pad See ew with Chicken and as usual it was fresh… and BLAND! Anyone who eats Pad See Ew noodles knows that you usually get an option to pick your spice level and that should’ve been my first red flag because there’s no spice option level at chef house. You get the basic simplistic version of Pad See possible. As fresh as the ingredients are at this place it really sucks that they haven’t mastered the seasons and flavors that are also an integral part of Asian cuisine. So yes the food is fresh, but a raw potato can be fresh too, doesn’t mean it tastes good though 😂 smh
