Hattie B's Hot Chicken - Dallas - Oak Lawn

Lively atmosphere, the person taking our order whas helpful in describing the menu as it was our first time. Fried chicken was good, was very happily surprised to have more than average grits. They actually tasted good unlike many places. Not too salty or bland just right.

Just when I thought customer service was becoming a thing of the past, the team at Hattie B’s completely changed my perspective.

From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with genuine smiles and a warm greeting. Gina and her team took the time to recommend items from the menu and made us feel like valued guests instead of just another order.

What stood out most was the atmosphere. The team members were interacting with customers, laughing, talking, and genuinely enjoying being around one another. It wasn’t scripted or forced—it was authentic, and you could feel it the entire time. Even though Hattie B’s is considered a fast-casual restaurant, the level of hospitality felt incredibly personal. The staff regularly walked through the dining room, checked on guests, and stopped by our table to make sure everything was perfect and to ask if we needed anything else.

And the food? It’s Hattie B’s… IYKYK! Absolutely worth the hype.

I have loved this place for many years now. The food is so good! When they decided to move out of deep Ellum we started coming to their new place. And at the beginning they were firing on all cylinders. You can tell all of the bosses were in town, the food was perfectly seasoned, the fries were amazing, but now that time has gone by, their quality is lacking. The fries have hardly any seasoning, and the chicken is hit or miss. The food is still very good, but it is supposed to be great. There is a standard, but they need someone to come remind them how to do it. Check out my picture of my chicken tender, it looks like they just splashed a line of seasoning across it. It was pretty sad. The staff is nice, this place just needs a manager to hold everyone to a standard when preparing the food. You guys are good, but when you're great, there is no place better.

Hot Chicken? This is the place. Chicken was amazing, juicy and tender and the spices were amazing. We ordered the medium spice and it didnt disapoint!

From the moment we approached the front counter, the employee assisting us was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. We remained respectful throughout the interaction, but his attitude immediately made us feel unwelcome.
The situation then escalated far beyond poor customer service. The employee became aggressive and appeared to be trying to provoke a physical confrontation with my wife and me. No customer should ever feel threatened while visiting your restaurant.
As he stormed out of the restaurant, he forcefully opened the door, and it struck my son. That was completely unacceptable and only made an already upsetting situation much worse. My family's safety should never be put at risk because of an employee's behavior.
I am requesting that you thoroughly investigate this incident by reviewing your security camera footage and speaking with the employees who were working at the time. I also ask that you let me know what steps will be taken to address this matter so that no other family has to experience something similar.

Everything was perfect. It makes all the difference when the people are smiling and then the food is perfect. I would move in next door and eat at Hattie B’s on the days that end with “y”.

Great food, and kiddos eat free in the summer so thats a plus! The desserts were awsome as well! 😋😋 Loved how the workers went around made sure costumers were good at all times and nice, also clean and well kept restaurant. Very good environment.

Whoever is the cook should be fired with this half cooked chicken. It took forever just to get the food and then want to offer a free banana pudding for the long wait. Maybe if you hire more people you won't have to RUSH cooking. Do better Hattie!

First timer here and can honestly say, the food was delicious! Chicken was crispy and juicy! I got the Hot and it was the perfect level of spice. And the waffle!? Seriously one of the best I’ve ever had. Gotta give this place 10/10 from me!

I purchased $42.50 for chicken wings and collard greens, Mac and cheese. The wings was cold and old like, I never received the greens or Mac and cheese. This was a take out order, when I received the order the bag was tied up I assumed everything was there. I tried to call them about the food that was missing out the order and tell them all the wings I purchased was cold and old but they wouldn't answer the phone. I should have went to Popeyes chicken. This is sad to just take someone money like this its pathetic. I do know this, this place has been open a year in a half if they keep doing business like this they want last long. I feel they just ripped me off for $42.50 my wife and I just threw all that nasty old food in the trash. I will not be back.

Best deal 3 wing snack , bacon cheddar grits and the greens are so savory. Best tenders around
