Not sure what changed within the kitchen during last 6 months but this place has fallen off a cliff. Was always over priced but the food could back it up. Sad!
My wife and I went to Hillside to watch a playoff football game and grab some food and drinks. Somehow, we ended up being the ones running the offense.
The highlight was the beer situation: our beer orders came out wrong (not once but twice) and our server insisted they were correct… as if gaslighting is a house special, the vibe was very much “this is your fault for ordering.”
Then after another 30 minutes, we realized she’d apparently left for the night while we were still waiting. So we got to play “find a server” just to order more beers. Plot twist!!! those were wrong too!
Food was expensive and aggressively average. Service was a complete fumble. We won’t be back and if you’re considering stopping here, do yourself a favor and keep driving or go literally anywhere else

Audrey is the bomb. The food was great; the service was even better. She needs a raise. We loved having her!

First time here - stopped by to grab a drink and watch the game.
We love the ample sitting options and their patio area. We had one of their October fest beers on tab, a lager and an espresso martini.
Parking can be difficult during the weekend but it’s worth it.
They have a lot of options for drinks and food.
We definitely want to return to try their food but this first impression was enough to know we will be returning soon.

Their steak is kinda on the tough side but it is NY strip. The fish was acceptable on the fish and chips, but not great. Lochlands has better fish. Service was superior.

They completely screwed up our bill and charged us wrong and then didn’t correct it correctly and had to file a dispute with my credit card company. Be careful and look at your bill carefully and then make them completely reverse the charges in front of you or they will just charge you whatever they want food was OK but fries had way too much seasoning on them. Have some fries with your seasoning is what they were like.
Sat on the patio and enjoyed the Tate Farms Cheeseburger and House-Seasoned Fries. It sounds like such a boring choice, but it was far from boring!! The Tate Farms beef was more delicious than anything I have ever tasted, even better than Waygu. There is just no comparison for locally sourced food. And the seasoning on the fries was the perfect companion for the burger’s garlic aioli and bacon jam. I wish I lived close by instead of passing through. The added bonus was Luis. He was such a gracious server!

I felt uncomfortable the atmosphere is not for people of color and the service was not good
It’s always great to come! The food is no that of the average sports bar. it’s delicious. Great service, nice friendly. Place is very laid back..

Hillside Tavern offers a relaxing neighborhood dining experience that’s full of wonderful dining and cocktails specials for their guest daily; starting with fun happy hours, and weekend brunches. The staff guided by the watchful eyes and hands on management style of Melody and Stephanie assures each patron enjoys every minute you’re with them. The generous digital menu offers many culinary and drink options to satisfy a diverse audience, many whom live in the area. The outdoor signage could be better, the placement and illumination, don’t draw the attention the restaurant and patio deserve. Although a casual sports bar vibe is what you’ll experience, I expected more of the restrooms which don’t live up to the ambiance of the main dining and bar areas. You’ll have problem parking because the plaza offers plenty. I hope you have a great time and take advantage of their amazing specials. See you soon! Xoxo Lorenzo!
Salmon bowl was fantastic.
Good entrees, service at lunch was OK not great.
Our 2nd time here, prices higher this visit, but seems true almost anyplace you go. You should be able to have lunch for under $40 for 2 people with no alcoholic beverages at a sports bar/grill.
BUT good food no matter what!
Loud and lively. Tex Mex and full bar. Martinis are there thing though.
Great burger. Staff hustles.
