Best food and service! It is our favorite restaurant in the Dallas area.

My husband and I went to Hillstone for my birthday. Our food and the service was great. We will definitely be back.

Hillstone/Houston's never disappoints. Left town that had Houston's, which has since closed - so any time we visit a market that has one...it's a must-have. Perfect atmosphere, and menu.

I’ve grown tired of this restaurant not serving enough chips with their spinach and artichoke dip. We always sit here staring at all of the dip that is left after we’ve eaten the five chips they serve with it. Service is also not what it used to be. This is a higher end restaurant. Expect better service

Two bad experiences in a row, we're through with Hillstone! We used to lunch a couple times a week at the Addison Houston's, sometimes twice in the same day. Knew and enjoyed the staff and always had an outstanding experience. The summary of our experience at Hillstone is primarily related to customer service. Even the manager was somewhat indignant to my concerns. The servers are no longer consistent with asking how your meal is, after delivering it. They aren't even consistent with replacing your empty tea glass, when left on the tables edge.

ok, this is a hard one for me...
In the 30 years of living in Dallas I've easily been to Houstons/Hillstone 50+ times..My husband and I go for our anniversary every year, Jan. 1st...this time was not pleasant..
from the first hello, the young lady seemed dissociated and unhappy. She wasn't MEAN but she wasn't happy or cheerful either. I asked her to take our annual photo by the front door and she reluctantly agreed, looking disturbed/bothered. She hurried, took the photo and just walked away before we could even review/approve it..this really bothered me, but I just noted it and moved on. We sat at the bar for drinks and this was good, Jocelyn was kind and the drinks were good. We moved into the dining room for dinner, no issues. Heather, our server was very nice.
We typically share a spinach and artichoke dip but decided to be healthier and ordered a traditional salad and cheese toast to share. Salad came and by surprise, it was 50% smaller than last year but it cost more..ok!
We ordered our dinner and it arrived on time, everything was fine except my Hawaiian Ribeye med well, which one of us order every year - it was completely rare; Heather took it back and returned it still more rare than medium..She offered to get me something else but I declined due to already eating my entire baked potatoe. My husband ate my steak.
Moving to desserts, they offer 4 options these days which none appealed to us, but the weird thing was they never offered us a free dessert for our anniversary..this really hurt!!
I think it bothered me bc if we went to del friscos (our other fave), they would have been very acknowledging and celebrative of our anniversary and patronage...
There are sooo many fine restaurants in Dallas and I think we'll be moving our special moments to those unfortunately.

Had birthday reservations for four. Brought a $85 special order birthday cake with us and gave it to our waiter he said that he would put it in the refrigerator until it was time for us to have dessert. After we finished eating we asked our waiter for the cake only to find out that we wouldn't be allowed to eat or Cut the Cake within the restaurant management refused to allow us to enjoy the cake. Everything was acceptable when they took the cake into their possession but everything changed when it came time for us to eat cake. What a pathetic way to do business.

Restaurantji Recommends
I absolutely love this place.. It used to be Houstons But I think it’s the same owners. They still serve the smoked salmon dish that we have been ordering for at least 15 years. We were so excited to see that it is still on the menu. This place is such a Dallas Landmark. I was just visiting Dallas, but I was so happy to see that it is still here. So many restaurants have closed down since Covid. The food was excellent as always, and our waitress was absolutely perfect. Her service was exceptional without being bothersome. I love the atmosphere in this place. Would definitely recommend to friends or relatives. Magnifique!

Still great but disappointing. The portions keep getting smaller and smaller and the prices keep going up. Don’t mind the prices, the food is still superb but if you are going to raise the prices so much, at least keep giving us the same portions as before. EVERYTHING is smaller, and we are very disappointed.
Contacted corporate to discuss a concern and was told my concern doesn’t matter. Definitely WONT be back. And the manager Schauna is extremely rude, no wonder the place STAYS empty.
Food is cheap. And there’s bugs roaming along the floors and booths.

Overpriced and poorly managed. We called ahead about a party of 6, showed up, waited 90 minutes, and then were told seating us together “wasn’t possible.” Absolute nonsense.
The manager, Rose, was rude and unapologetic, and her idea of a fix was to split us up on my dad’s birthday. That alone tells you everything. We were loyal customers, but we’re done until she’s gone. Save your money and eat somewhere that respects it.

We visited to celebrate my father’s birthday, and the evening was completely derailed due to poor management by Rose. We called ahead and clearly stated we were a party of six. We were informed that reservations aren’t accepted, which was fine. When we arrived, we again checked in as six guests and were told to wait.
After waiting over an hour and a half, we were suddenly told they “couldn’t accommodate a party of six.” That explanation makes no sense—especially for a restaurant that claims to be upscale. To make matters worse, we had dined here the week before with the exact same party size and were seated without any issue.
Rose’s only solution was to split us up and seat us at separate tables—on my father’s birthday. That is not acceptable customer service. Her demeanor throughout the interaction was dismissive, rude, and completely unapologetic, with no real attempt to resolve the problem.
We were regular customers who visited weekly, but after this experience, we will not be returning as long as Rose remains employed here. One person’s poor management turned what used to be an enjoyable restaurant into a place we can no longer recommend.
