It's your favorite small hometown diner hole-in-the-wall. You have to get the biscuits. Definitely a must for the weekends.

Imagine if Bukowski owned and ran a diner before the city became gentrified slop. order anytime after 1pm and John will just scoff and shake his head at you. but I find it endearing. note: they lock the doors and close the blinds at 1:40pm every day. anyways, thanks John for always serving this late night bartender at 1pm for breakfast ❤️‍🔥

John’s Cafe is hands down the best diner in Dallas. Their pancake combo is our favorite and it makes for the perfect breakfast! The staff is so kind and they run their operation efficiently so you never have to wait long for a table!

John's is a treasure of a local old school diner, consistently delicious in an old school way. John himself is an integral part of the experience, as is sharing tables with like minded strangers on the large center communal tables. I love the breakfast special with ham, eggs over easy, and crispy hash browns, timeless perfection for breakfast out.

I've been a loyal customer of John's Cafe for years, and the food has always been excellent. I’m truly sorry to hear they are closing. The open-faced roast beef was one of the best in town, and I will genuinely miss their delicious meals. Wishing the owners all the best in their future endeavors.

On a street of locations that are all about the loud over the top vibe, this place has delicious food in a more laid back style. My personal favorite, this places actually cooks the hasbrowns and pancakes to golden brown. Too many places serving under cooked cards. John’s is doing it right

Fabulous little diner! Quick, hearty breakfast just like mama used to make. Fresh hot coffee with free refills (green handle is decaf). Delicious chicken fried steak. Over-easy eggs cooked just right. Homestyle cheese grits. Just-right omelettes.

Real hard to beat!

Was GREAT food, took a long time but worth the wait if you have the time. BUT, was far too busy for the amount of seating available. Not too keen on eating with people I don't know.
