One of my favorite spots--whether it be a date night or girls night. Its perfect! The drinks and food are all stellar and the staff could not be friendlier! It's a place where you won't feel rushed but able to sit back and enjoy!

Jose Luis was our waiter- he was top notch, attentive and so helpful and professional. The margaritas are so good, the red fish was very good and a huge portion, the cheese dip was very good. The Guac lacked flavor but very creamy and good. Love the ambiance of this place!

Our server, Brandon, preemptively inquired about any food allergies and meticulously walked us through the menu, ensuring a safe and enjoyable meal for all. Lions Mane mushroom taco. INEDIBLE. The recipe doesn't work. I grow lions mane at home, love em. Lions mane has a seafood flavor. When I saw lions mane on the menu, i instantly knew what I wanted.... Lions mane mushrooms (remember seafood taste), drenched in a buffalo hot sauce (acid based hot sauce), big dollop of sour cream (more acid) and topped with pickled red onions (additional acid). It was a lot of liquid and acid.Best part was having my girlfriend try it. She hates mushrooms. Took a bite. The grimace on her face and watching her look around to see if it was appropriate to spit out (it wasn't, so she just swallowed)... priceless. I did get cussed out afterwards and no lovin' that night buuuut it was funny.The tacos are a slimy, sloppy, sour seafood mess. It was compd.I'm giving this feedback in hopes Jose rethinks the recipe. It doesnt work.recipe idea. We were in town and heard about Jose. We came for lunch after a trip to the zoo and it was well worth it. The margaritas were perfect. I had a frozen and rocks. Both fantastic. We had the ceviche and the machete. The machete says for 2 but i think 3 could maybe finish it haha. The tacos a la tachta were fantastic as well. If in the area check them out.
Most of the food I would actually give 5 stars. The skirt steak was just too tough and the poblanos just tasted like they weren't cooked enough. Drinks are amazing and so is the green salsa.

It's just fine. I hate red with Crab Sampositos (may be spelled incorrectly) and the crab meat was delicious, but the masa boat it was served with was flavorless and dry. My wife and I ordered enchiladas, short rib and langoustine. Both dishes got the meat right but the tortillas were rubbery. It's a cool place to be... but I don't like over paying for below average food
I wish I could review the food, but our waiter just disappeared after bringing drinks. We sat for 10 minutes (I timed it) before we got up and left. I dropped cash to cover the drink and we walked out. I doubt we'll be back.

Jose is a beautiful restaurant the decor is great. The service was excellent. But the food for me and my friend was below average the guacamole was good the coconut ceviche was mediocre in my opinion needed salt and lime and more coconut flavor the mango was a good touch. Now the enchiladas, I ordered skirt steak and my friend ordered short rib probably the worst enchiladas we have ever had. The meat on both plates had an odd taste it was like the steak was boiled and the short rib tasted off. We will not go back.

We tried the machete this time. Let me tell you, this is a real 1-yard long machete. We couldn't finish it. Great salsa, the masa was on point. We spent less than 100.00

I go here at least once a month but I gotta tell you the service from valet to my waitress/waiter is always kind, friendly and ready with food suggestions! I never order desserts but it was my birthday and they kindly surprised me with a sampling and now I have another favorite. Good food and good people are rare in Dallas — go where they treat you like an old friend!
