Honest Review ✍🏽✨
We visited Lucky’s cafe for a birthday brunch 🎉 and were excited to celebrate, but the experience at the host stand really fell short. The woman taking names seemed irritated and popped up without a greeting, which created confusion for our group. It also wasn’t clear she worked there since she didn’t have a Lucky’s shirt, apron, or any kind of identifiable uniform 👕that would help a lot.
When we tried to give the birthday name, we were told we needed to provide a “two-syllable name,” which felt unnecessary and dismissive. A clear guest list system or a more organized check-in process would make a huge difference, especially on busy Sundays 📋.
The restaurant itself looked great, and we were looking forward to it, but because of the tone and confusion at the door, we ultimately chose to leave 🚶🏽♀️🚶🏽♀️.
Suggestion: Consider offering a small birthday perk, like a complimentary pastry or gift card 🎁to truly elevate the guest experience and match the warm reputation Lucky’s cafe is known for.
Sharing this feedback in hopes the hosting experience can reflect the same quality as the food and atmosphere inside. ✨

Was seated right away, but our server never came. We ended up leaving. Staff saw us leaving and still didn't acknowledge

Family of 4, Came on a Saturday after 3pm only a few tables occupied. We were seated and told our server would be with us soon. A table after us with 1 person was served their drink first and we had been waiting over 10mins. Staff kept looking over to our table without acknowledgement. Really were looking forward to trying this brunch spot, see why it's not busier for a Saturday.

Excellent customer service. The wait time for our party of 16 was very reasonable, especially considering this is a smaller diner typically set up for parties of four. We chose to eat here because of the convenient location and the high star ratings.
The chicken fried chicken, everyone’s eggs, and the sweet cornbread were all very good. The staff was attentive throughout our visit. However, several items were disappointing. The turkey bacon was extremely salty, and everyone who ordered pancakes, sausage, or potatoes received them burnt. The waffles were the biggest letdown… the flavor was off, and they were so unappetizing that none of us ate them.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be returning.

I love that everything came to me hot (or warm-biscuit and cornbread). The biscuit was really really great. I could have just had a warm biscuit only breakfast. 😋 Though we had nothing bad. Our server Steve was great too! Come with an appetite, it's a lot of food. I definitely will come back when in the Dallas area again. (I'll probably
dream of those biscuits 🤣)

Try brunch with Bobby and you are in for geat service at bar. Bobby is fun and attentive. He makes sure everything is perfect and timely. Now the food... WOW! Scratch made delicious local and organic Ingredients. The biscuits are so fluffy you think you can eat three. They serve breakfast all day and have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Today I had the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted. There is a secret here and its amazing. My hubby and I have shared the roasted turkey club on jalapeño cheddar bread. It was honestly one of the best club sandwiches that I have ever eaten. The fries are crisp and thinly sliced. Luckys has a full bar and beer and wine. Of course, they offer mimosas, what Dallas restaurant worth it's salt doesn't? They have daily specials and I am getting hungry just thinking about the fried mushrooms and the homemade meatloaf. Get to Luckys early or be prepared to wait. If you can hold out for lunch until mid-afternoon, 1 or 2, then you may be fortunate enough to snag a seat at the bar. Go hungry and be prepared to be satisfied! Went back for dinner this week. I had the meatloaf with whipped potatoes and green beans. Of course I added a basket of biscuits & corn bread. The food smelled heavenly and I scared it down before I remembered to take some pictures. I did snap a photo of their Frozen Rose, my second one. They are only $3 on Tuesdays. They have drink specials every day.
