This is one of my absolute favorite places in Dallas. I went once literally right before Covid took off and was sad I wasn't able to introduce anyone to Macellaio after lockdowns started. My mom and I were able to get reservations for "Pasta on the Patio". First of all, the staff did a great job of adhering to Covid safety protocols (everyone had masks on, hand sanitizer was provided for guests, table spread apart, etc). The food was, of course, amazing. We had five courses: prosciutto, rock shrimp risotto, taleggio ravioli, tonarelli with lamb and olive sausage, and a ricotta tart for dessert. It's a generous prix fixe dinner, so it's probably best to eat light if you plan on going. We also opted for wine pairings, which IMHO was worth the extra money. Each course was delicious and presented beautifully. I was in a certified and satisfied food coma by the end of the night. Can't wait to return!

Just spectacular. Did a five course tasting menu with wine pairing and everything was exceptional. Our server (and restaurant co-owner) Jennifer couldn’t have been more attentive and lovely. Worth every penny and then some. It was seriously the best meal I’ve experienced since the last time I was in Europe, and possibly the best pasta I’ve had ever. Words cannot express.

We picked up things for home, but just couldn't wait and pulled over for the chicken sandwich. This is THE BEST chicken sandwich we've ever had. Moist, flavorful, crunch & spice. It is a good thing we live 30+ minutes away, or we'd be there daily.

The Moroccan lamb sausage dinner is amazing and the sides compliment the dish so well.

The problem with places like Macellaio is that you can't have access to it all the time. I ordered takeout on a Saturday and was so impressed I don't even know where to start. First of all the price for what I got was on point. I ordered one of the biggest muffuletta sandwiches I've ever seen and most likely the best tasting as well for way less than I'd think it was worth. My favorite part of the whole experience was the fact that the owner was the one who helped me with my order. I can tell by how Jennifer interacted with me that she loves that business and I wish the best for them. If you haven't tried Macellaio you should.

I fell in love with this place! Everything was flavorful & delicious. Nothing disappointed tonight. We had the sea salt potatoes - amazing, the grilled bread with burrata - awesome, hugo spitzer - super tasty and steak - perfection. I described it was "food happiness" in my belly!

Really outstanding food and extremely helpful service. Always great to go somewhere that is afraid to make recommendations and then those recommendations are just all solid. Menu changes too often for this to be helpful but the squid and blood sausage rice dish was really amazing.

Went on a weekday for a mini girls night. Wow...so good. From what I can tell, their plates are created to share, so I definitely recommend ordering a few different types of dishes with the intention of enjoying together. Here's what we ordered: Cauliflower - ah-mazing. The sauce was incredible, and it had a sort of Mediterranean flavor to it. This was a hit with all of us. Steak with arugula - unreal. It was cut so thinly, and had a really unique, smoky flavor to it. Focaccia - wow. The cheese ... I could have just eaten that all night. Great experience, awesome ambiance, and good service. Will definitely need to go again for a date night!

Great food! Just had meat, bread, and cocktails but an awesome way to start the night. They also offer entrees. Great service and knowledgeable staff. Be sure to stop by!

Such a great night. In mid February, we were even able to sit on the patio, and I loved the cute walkable neighborhood. The whole thing felt very Portland (in a good way!). Alyssa (?) was our server, and she was being shadowed by a new person as well. Both were attentive and helpful but also gave us our time to savor and relax and enjoy a late V-Day dinner over the long holiday weekend. Each dish that came out seemed to outdo the next in some way. We had arancini, oysters, the salumi board, gulf shrimp, and the chicken, with the doughnut type dessert AND the milk chocolate one (ok, we couldn't decide on just one!). I really enjoyed a glass of sherry with the salumi, I think that was my favorite. The chicken was our least favorite. The flavor was good, but we prefer dark meat and were probably saving room for dessert by then! Would love to come back in even warmer weather and explore more - we want to dry the shared pork entree another time!

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a drink and light appetizer. Sat at the bar and bartender was great at explaining the menu and drink suggestions. Ordered the Sergio Leone and pear cranberry side car. Both excellent and delicious. Sergio Leone has a spicy kick to it. Ordered the arancini appetizer to share. They are risotto balls in a nice aioli like type sauce. Extra super delicious! Will return for a full meal in the future.
