Food was room temperature fajitas meat was chewy, rice was not good, tortillas came out crispy when you folded into a taco it broke apart. Management did take care of it and the wait staff was great.

Visited this east Dallas, Lakewood establishment for lunch and was less than impressed. Service, was good, however the lunch menu was very limited and most noticeable was the quality of the food. I've visited many times in the past ten plus years and this was the first time I was underwhelmed and noticed that the food was just okay. Too many other Tex Mex restaurants to choose from that try much harder. Unfortunate!

Overall, I thought this restaurant was pretty good... as far as Tex-Mex goes, it's tasty, but not necessarily one of the best. I went to a large family dinner at this location, and I'll have to say, the menu selection was pretty outstanding as well as how quickly and accurately the food arrived! Most of the employees seemed extremely kind, our waitress however, appeared to be somewhat annoyed and it showed. Not sure if I'll choose this restaurant on my own free accord, but I won't oppose it!!

Pretty good food. Margaritas not so much. Got the fajitas and enjoyed them and the atmosphere .

If I could rate this establishment no stars I would. Was charged over double for my meal. The managers did nothing about it. The General Manager was to busy to speak to me at the restaurant when this happen. They took my info down and said they would call,(no call ever came). Every time I called to get the transaction reversed, the GM is to busy and refuses to call back. If you ask me this place is crooked.

Service was quick and friendly. I had the brisket tacos which were excellent. Matt's fries as an appetizer were lacking. Maybe a little pricey for the food but it was very good overall.

I came in at 12:30pm for lunch as a new guest, me and my wife. We sat down at a table and the waiter came to the table in frustration asked what we wanted to drink. We told him two waters when he returned he slammed the waters down in frustration and slashed on my arm no apology at all asked what we wanted to eat we responded we are not readyHe went and sat down and continued talking to his coworker. We are a black couple who works the service industry I have NEVER felt that way in my life and I've been in the industry for over 20 years really was let down and felt cause we are black.he didmt want to wait on us that bad iy hurts my heart to be treated like that when I all we wanted was to get a good meal

Ryan is the best waiter I have ever had at Matt's; he is amazing at his job, smiles & takes care of his customers/tables. I have been a Matt's "regular" for years. Wasn't impressed w/ Super Duper 100 watt BRIGHT lightbulbs over the bar....bar lacks ambiance it once had; needs to be toned down a bit, made a bit more cozy for for "chilling out" & having a drink... other employees lack personality and smiles. Food was excellent.

Yummy! Loved the Bob Armstrong dip. Could barely finish my marg, it was so giant. Slow service but we had like 18 people and were here on a Thursday afternoon, so not their fault honestly.

YUM!!! Matt's Ranchero is some of the best food in the world. I have LOVED it since my first time when it was a few blocks north in Lakewood. Everyone who works here is friendly, kind, and understanding of customers requests and special diets.I have never had a bad experience at Matt's and the tortilla soup will heal anything.

Matt's is supreme. I'm sorry, there are other restaurants out there and some of them are good. Or maybe great. But Matt's is simply UNPARALLELLED. The menu chosen for a private buffet was an appetizer buffet with salsa (how do they MAKE it so fantastic?!), guacamole, queso, chips, pico de gallo, deep-fried jalapeno poppers, and so much more...was only topped by the main menu of beef and chicken and cheese enchiladas, beans, rice, and fascinating margaritas, sweet tea, or whatever you fancy. A buffet sounds like you might to left to your own devices--but the staff was right there, on point, taking our drink orders, replenishing dishes, and making sure we were content and FED. Although it was a Celebration of LIfe and no one wants to repeat that, I'm going to SEARCH for happy reasons to return to Matt's Lakewood every chance I get. Don't waste time checking out other places, Matt's Ranchero Martinez is WHERE IT'S AT!!

Oh my!! This place is SO good!! Fab food. Fabulous service! Highly recommend the chili relleno!! It has pecans and raisins on top - sounds a little (ok, a LOT) weird but trust me when I say it is divine!!! I also recommend the margaritas!! This restaurant is a Dallas staple. They used to be packed nightly but were forced to move and while the new location is very nice, it not the destination location the former site had. Oh and there really is a Matt and Matt jr - great family!!

Went here upon the recommendation of a friend. The service was adequate and the portions were soooo generous. The chips and salsa are amazing and I had grilled zucchini with chicken. Was very tasty but the rice was a bit dry. Otherwise, the outside dining was lovely withisters and the skinny margarita was delicious! Definitely worth a try!
