The food was good but not great. However, the ambiance was awesome and the service was really great. I'll give it another chance and order differently.
Kid-friendliness: One of the waiters thoughtfully removed our table cactus when he saw me discreetly moving it further from him. I appreciated that. They also have a kids menu and coloring sheet.

Had a fantastic lunch at Meso Maya - Lakewood. If you're looking for a great salad, try the Ensalada Mercado de Pollo. Delicioso! Jessica was our server - attentive and all smiles. And the GM, Chloe, paid a visit to our table - friendly and engaging Meso Maya is a go-to spot in East Dallas. Get 'em on your list. #mesomaya #eastdallas #Lakewood #eastdallaschamber
Nice atmosphere and decent food, service was off, our waitress often forgot orders for only a certain person of the table, felt very purposeful and deliberate. Otherwise the food was good and the desserts were decent, nothing really jumping off the page. A good little stop if you want churched up Mexican food.

I go there almost every week, because I like the food, but honestly service is not the best, even when the restaurant was not busy, I felt they can do better, in general..

Staff was not welcoming upon arrival, Food is not authentic Mexican, portions are extremely small for the soup and only have 2-4 small pieces of the veggies it says it come with, and then they charge you extra $4 if you want more veggies. The only thing that was actually enjoyable was the chips and salsa. Do not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this restaurant is very white washed.

Got the Carne Asada!!! Ordered medium rare!!!! It was perfect! We go to alot of places in Dallas and the food was right up there with anyone. The margarita wasn’t that good though. Too much salt for my liking

If you’re a carnivore, you’ve got to get the Carne Asada. If you don’t, you’ll miss out on one of the most flavorful and tender skirt steaks out there. Unpopular opinion here, but I’d take this cut of marinaded perfection over the ones at most steak houses in DFW. You’ll spend a quarter of the price and leave feeling for times as satisfied. The sides, service, and ambiance are also top tier.

This is my second visit and I really enjoy how the food is prepared here. The flavors remind me of dishes from the south of Mexico. The presentation of the food caught my eye and so did the color of the plate which was pleasing. The smell of the food was inviting and the ingredients tasted fresh which is always a plus. I had the Carne Asada Tostaditas with an extra side of back beans. It was delicious. I had the unsweetened mango tea which was light and refreshing.
I did notice while sitting outside the music was louder than expected which made having a conversation with your guests loud not as pleasurable. Overall, it was a good eating experience.
Parking: Location is Mockingbird/Abrams. A decent amount of parking spaces on the side. Parking in the front is an open lot with medium traffic.
