It was good, for the price and lunch menu. I had the taco salad which was very large I could barely finish it ??They used to charge for chips and dip but I think they cancelled that.The only issue I had with it was the tipping. I leave cash tip but the guy from the register took 4$ extra from my card as a tip!! I leave about 20% for the waitress cause I want them to have it, but I didn't even know he charge my card until I got the bank statement text a few hours later!?CHECK YOUR CARD CHARGE BEFORE LEAVING RESTAURANT

I, too, was a long-time repeat customer of this establishment. I've been going there since they were located on Ferguson road next to Charlotte's Pet Shop. Things have been changing for a while but it's gone downhill fast since 2020. The food isn't what it used to be despite the prices going up. And, yeah, no one wants to be charged for chips and salsa.

Stopped by for lunch in this small neighborhood restaurant. We ordered a bowl of queso a very big bowl of liquid yellow, not my favorite too runny but favors okay. They have an amazing lunch menu with most items $6.99 not that price matters in what we order but great prices for the lunch menu. We got the enchiladas and beef taco with rice. Some of the best flavor and textured rice I have eaten. Cheese Enchiladas had onions in the cheesy yummiest- delicious cheese enchiladas- beef taco full of ground beef seasoned and fresh lettuce and tomato. I have to say great Tex-Mex food at an even better price. Service was great.

Great prices for a nice , quick take out or eat in TexMex restaurant. Tacos, enchiladas and quacamole is very good. Margaritas and beer always great prices, all day. Love their warm chips and tasty salsa. It's not fancy, but I have been going to Mexicali since it was located in the Casa View Shopping Center, 30 years ago. It location, now, is near Chubby's, on Northwest Hwy , west of Jupiter Rd. It has been remodeled and includes a nice bar/eating area, with a sports bar take, if that's your pleasure. Nothing fancy, but good eating! Don't be discouraged by the strip shopping area that Mexicali is located in. It has a loyal following for decades. Check it out and start your self a new "go to" MexTex place. It's not noisy and that's a plus's, plus for me!!!

I have gone there for years ( over 10) and loved it...but now it's time to say ADIOS. First the prices went up Then the flavor and quality went down Then the started charging for chips!! When I got there today I wondered why they were completely empty.

Mother in law suggested this place when we came to visit her. Portions were huge!!!! And I mean huge! We had at least two meals that we couldn’t finish so we took home. The fresh made churros with cajeta, to die for lol. The waiter was amazing, attentive, informative and respectful. This place is well hidden unless you stumble upon it, you’ll find. They are I believe next door to a biker bar(or some type of bar). While it may have not been too busy, it was a great little quaint place to visit, sit and have a small dinner. Also, for drinks, horchata mangorita and piña colada with a shot of patron. All drinks were tasty and good! Do recommend this establishment if you want a quaint and quiet place to enjoy dinner with a margarita.

I wasn't a fan. The cost was high and the food was just, mediocre. It wasn't bad, but there are other better options with better food and prices so close by. I honestly don't even remember what I ordered (as our visit was long ago) but my husband and daughter agreed.
This is just my totally awesome all time favorite mexican restaurant to go to! My family and I have been going here for years! The food, drinks, hot sauce, chips, atmosphere, prices, you name it, it is all just super awesome! And, the owners and staff are awesome too! I have always had nothing but a great experience at Mexicali's and I am most positive you will to!

They now charge for chips and salsa. $2.50. Really???!! And cut the lunch portions to one enchilada. You've lost a long time customer. I've been going there for 30 years!! Good luck.

We ordered from Mexicali and when we were delivered the food we were missing another soda and even tried getting the attention of the person who delivered the food from us, but the person ignored us and drove off. We were basically scammed. And my brother is disabled and couldn't move to the person to get their attention! I recommend you DO NOT get your food from this restaurant. They're scammers and ableists.

This restaurant is a dying breed: old-fashioned, hole in the wall, cheap (but good!) TexMex. They make the chicken for their chicken enchiladas and flautas on site. The cheese and beef enchiladas are standard fare, (but a high standard), made fresh to order. They have started charging for chips and salsa, but do I really NEED chips and salsa? My scale says I don't! Super clean bathroom. And for TexMex, it's remarkably non-greasy. Very affordable. This is my choice for TexMex in East Dallas.
