I’m surprised: people talk about the great Mexican food here in the Southwest, and so far, I find I can get far more delicious, refined Mexican food in LA or even in New England. And the hype around “Tex Mex” is really mystifying: it seems to apply the same formula of BBQ to Mexican food: take really dry meat or chicken, slather it in some kind of really sweet or cheesy sauce, and call it “cuisine.” Mi Cocina is very nice, with reasonable prices and extremely attentive...
