This place was great! Delicious food and friendly service. The bbq was amazing and lots of unique sides I’ve never seen before. Lots of meat choices to choose from. The bbq sauce was delicious and it’s no wonder they sell it! I got a chopped brisket sandwich plate. The bun was unique too. It’s located right by UT Southwestern hospital. Mike the owner greets you and takes your order, prepares your meat and makes small talk. I really enjoyed the small town hospitality. You definitely won’t be disappointed. Don’t forget to get the cobbler for dessert. It’s fantastic and I couldn’t stop eating it. Mike shared a few ingredients he uses for it. Mmm ?Vegetarian options: Salads and plenty of vegetable optionsDietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian optionsParking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Family friendly

I ordered a three meat combo and got double brisket with the beef sausage; however I got the exact portion amount of brisket as my coworker who got three different meats. I called and spoke with Mr. Mike and he seem irritated that I was calling about the portion size of my meat being the exact same as amount as my coworker who didn’t get double brisket. This was a very sad excuse of Customer service from the owner and our company orders here two or three times a month. This is no way to treat a regular customer and our office has decided to choose a different barbecue restaurant named Terry Blacks from this day on out.Terry blacks is better anyway. The owners response:“Response from the owner 3 hours agoAll plates have the same amount of meat regardless if they are one meat, two meat, or three meat. Thanks for sneaking in the barb at the end of your commentary, nice touch. I'll call Terry and warn him that you are coming.”Not only are you calling me liar and acting like I don’t know what I am talking about, but you are acting you never made a mistake. We spent nearly $250 on the order and every person in the office saw the mistake and acknowledged it. I was not throwing a jab at you about Terry Black’s because if you look at his ratings on google you will see they are better, and look at the customer service comments. Now look at the history of your customer service comments. You’re a sad excuse for customer service.

Can't decide what kind of meat to get then get it to meat hoagie sandwich. The best sides in the world great barbecue.

The ambiance and service at this cafeteria style Texas Barbecue are quintessential Texas. Down home good folks serving up heaping helpings of pretty decent food. And while they are decent, they are not great, especially when compared in what has become a pretty crowded and competitive fiend of barbecue restaurants. Like many others, they are also a bit pricey. My Brisket sandwich and 2 sides set me back a little over $18 before taxes. The dinner plates run up into the low to mid 20's per plate. The sides I chose were fried okra, which was pretty good and Southern Mustard Tater Salad which was ok. The star here to me though was what they call "Granny's Peach Cobbler"...it was everything it's name sets the stage for and more! This place is not the greatest barbecue restaurant around but it IS a must try for anyone wanted quintessential Texas Barbecue!

On the entrance they have a sign with the prices and one of them is 20 dollars the plate and when you are going to pay ,they want to charge you extra money for the whole plate ,56 dollars for two plates.

I had the sausage sandwich plate with green beans and cherry/pineapple cobbler for my 2 sides. I was impressed that I was able to get cobbler as a side and impressed by the cherry/pineapple. I was a little hesitant about the cherry pineapple mix but the 2 flavors complemented the other. I will go back to eat there.

Brisket was good. The texas toast is stellar. The bbq sauce is pretty good but the jalapeno sauce is way better. Sausage was all right but still tasty. Good portion size and will definitely fill you up if you're

Bang average bbq, for a slightly higher price than what I expected. May have had something to do with the fact we came in 30 mins before closing, but the brisket was dry, the ruins were cold and the sides looked worse for wear.

The best BBQ imo hands down. We have been coming here for years and have not disappointed. The jalapeño bbq sauce and the cherry-pineapple cobbler are the best. I strongly recommend MABBQ.
