The Mrs. and I ventured out to eat at a restaurant for the first time in months. The Nashville hot chicken at Palmer's was VERY tasty! The spice level ("Nashville" - a medium+) was just right - enough to make your nose runny but not so much that it obscured the taste of the chicken. We had the Mother Clucker chicken sandwich- loved the pimento cheese on it! Fried shimp (with Novice spice) was crispy with a dozen plump shrimp in the basket. Sides - porch corn ? was the winner - a nicely roasted ear of corn topped with cojita cheese. Pimento grits were good with a pinch of salt. Mac and cheese was soupy, just meh. Fries were the coated variety, but crunchy in a good way. Dessert was banana pudding- tasted homemade, but could use a crispy nilla wafer or two on top.Best part was the open-air dining porch. We were socially distant from all other diners, with a nice breeze and overhead fans. We felt safe, and left stuffed. We will definitely be back.

Diner beware - you'll need stretch pants for this meal! The tenders were incredible and packed a lot of crunch (my favorite part). Service was quick and we appreciated the staff circulating to help clear tables and chat for a few minutes.

Food and customer service was exceptional! The owner, Palmer, came to our table and made sure everything was good! Come support your local business!

I’m a big fan of Nashville hot chicken, and this is the real deal. They did their research, and the spicy flavor and the crispy bark can go head to head with Hattie B’s or Prince’s. The heat is there, but not the “make you cry” heat you find at Prince’s. The Mother Clucker sandwich is a genius combination - hot chicken, pimento cheese, and pickles all work to make the messiest, most delicious sandwich I’ve had in years. They have even mastered the waffles, crispy and light, and when paired with spicy chicken and buttery syrup you can’t go wrong. Get the tater tots with pimento queso and greens as sides and you’ve got a meal you can’t match without taking a plane to Tennessee. This place has earned a permanent spot on the dining rotation.

We had dinner here tonight and I thought it was an excellent execution of Nashville chicken. The spice was just right and it was all served hot and fresh by very friendly staff. Decent selection of beer, the sides were good and they offered enough choices so if someone in your group isn’t into hot and spicy, they’ll be happy too. It’s a comfortable neighborhood place, I’m looking forward to trying more of their offerings.

So this place is brand new, and was delayed because of pandemic. This is important since new businesses really are like shuttle launches and are significantly impacted by delays, new rules etc. That being said - food was good. It was quick since I can guess they're turning it over pretty quickly. Spice levels are on the lighter side. What's great is they have zero spice levels for kids. I've been to some chicken places where the food is essentially inedible for kids under 15.Anyhow, it's great that the place is WELL STAFFED. This goes back to pandemic and planning etc. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, polite and asked me how I'm doing. That's a genuine recipe for success. This place has something for everyone - kids, adults, seniors, brunchers. Food was good and plating was very appetizing.Try it out! Support your city!!!

Growing up, my dad taught me about "the shiver," which was his way of describing when he had hit that point in a really good meal where he just had to stop. I can't remember the last time I ate like this. For the first time in months, I hit the shiver at the soft opening for Palmer's.It started off with the fried shrimp taco dressed in Nashville. What you get is a soft yet crispy tortilla with a Cole slaw base that is surprisingly sweet. Resting on this are three plump shrimp made to your liking. The proper way to eat this combination is Nashville strength at a minimum. The Cole slaw blends sweetness perfectly at this level of heat and you could safely go napalm here without getting too winded. I believe the correct move going forward with this combination is a side of melted pimento to drizzle on top. Or dip. I do what I want.Next was the motherclucker. Went novice here to test the waters, and it was right on. Perfect effect on the batter, slightly crispy, and mouth meltingly satisfying. Napalm is definitely for pros, or "Chads" out to impress their bros. Don't complain when you are properly challenged. Presentation lays it up proper on a non assuming, quality bun, which comes bedded with a healthy dose of House pimento at just the right temp. No cold shock. Pickles at last to toss your palate aside then hit that good good. Homemade banana pudding. It'll cure the heat from your earlier embarrassment too.All the staff was attentive, excited and happy to please and learn what to improve.Seriously glad to welcome Palmer and his concepts to the Dallas area. Be sure to say hi to him if you get a chance (he will probably find you first). And help support a business braving this crazy year.Sidenote: this doesn't being to cover the fact that roughly 1/3rd of the place is split from the interior and turned into a quasi patio with turf and roll up garage doors. It's completely covered, great high quality audio you can actually hear, and TVs for days.Check it out.

So sad!!! We tried the second and third hottest. I was excited but the chicken had no flavor and what kind of chicken sandwich is smothered with queso (cheese) !!! Nope!! Worst hot chicken I’ve had unfortunately

My husband and I ate here for lunch today and it was really good. I can't believe how great the place looks after they gutted the old Lakewood 1st & 10. We ordered the MotherClucker sandwich with Pimento Grits and the 2 piece dark meat with beans and collard greens...both of them Nashville style. Everything we ordered was REALLY good and we will definitely be back. Someone next to us ordered the chicken tenders and they were huge...we'll probably try those next time. If I had any recommendations for this place it would be to offer customers the option to have the dark meet cut into 2 separate pieces (leg and thigh) versus having it come as one piece. It was difficult to eat as one piece and it was difficult for my husband and I to share it. I would even pay an extra $1 above what they charge to have the pieces separated. The other recommendation I would make is to offer chicken to be sold by the bucket. We would gladly order a bucket of chicken for a larger party. I think this place will be wildly successful in this location and will be around for years to come!

Ok here goes. Walked in to order and saw the ToGo sign walked up and nice young lady took my order.... and confirmed it. She called me "mr krzyston" your order is ready. Nice touch Got the food home and here goes. Chicken .. crunchy , hot and spicy .. excellent got the Nashville spice level. Just right. Baked beans? Yes please they were flavorful and super yummy. Tater tots ... a little underdone not enough crunch. Overall they hit it outta the park especially after being open only a few days. Can't wait to come back

Not sure what's going on in Lakewood but we have another hot chicken spot just opened up. I'm not one to complain about it though! I gave it a try today and had an overall decent experience. See details below:Pros:Online order placed for pickup through Toasttab. Very easy to navigate, I prefer ordering through platforms like Chownow or Toasttab as they make it super simple for pickup. Order was ready within 15min.Ambiance was really really nice and open. There was a great semi-outdoors patio area and everything looked clean and bright. The two sides I ordered were really good: the mac and cheese was very rich and the pimento cheese grits had a good kick to it and great texture. Also, a really great bonus is that you can select a waffle as a side too with a plate! I was expecting maybe a quarter or a half of a waffle but it was a full sized belgian waffle - really soft and fluffy and delicious!Cons:I had ordered the catfish plate which online described as including "two good pieces" of catfish I assume. Was SUPER confused as when I opened up the container, it contained as a few fish finger-sized pieces. I was expecting larger filets so was just a bit taken aback. The size of the fish fingers were really meager too so I wouldn't recommend this if you are really expecting "good-sized pieces"I'm starting to think Nashville hot chicken really isn't just my thing as once again, like my previous experience w/ another hot chicken place, I wasn't loving the taste/spices of the chicken. I ordered the 3rd highest heat setting - Nashville and it was fairly underwhelming. I will say, the toast underneath the chicken soaks up a lot of the hot sauce and ended up being way spicier than the chicken ha! The chicken skin was super crispy and the meat was very tender but there was just a slight bitterness to the taste that wasn't really enticing to me.Overall, Palmers is doing a lot of things right. I don't know if I'll be a regular there but definitely envisioning myself coming back maybe not for the chicken, but for the delicious sides!

Great atmosphere, both indoors and semi-patio -- very cool feel. Food is delicious! Choose your heat (or none) on fried chicken, oven roasted chicken, fried catfish or chicken strips. The sides are tremendous with great selections. Plenty of food in the portions, and the cost if right too. If you have room after all that for desserts, you are in for a treat - no pun intended!

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! We sat in the partially enclosed patio seating area equipped with TVs which was great for enjoying weekend football games. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Just had a late dinner at Palmer's and it was absolutely fantastic. I will be recommending this to everyone I know here in Dallas. Perfect fry on the chicken, so moist and flavorful. Fries were incredibly fresh and crispy. The coleslaw is the perfect sweet/tangy old-fashioned diner style that you just need for the fried chicken. Paloma was delicious, and the ice cream sandwiches were awesome. Nothing but praise for this welcome new addition to the neighborhood!

Me and my daughter went here on a Saturday for lunch and it was delicious! Lots of outdoor seating and attentive costumer service. There were tons of food options and definitely southern style food ways like the waffle and chicken. Definitely recommend coming here with kids.
