If you enjoy beignets, you'll LOVE this place!

I recently stopped by PJ's Coffee and ordered a small brewed coffee along with an order of beignets (which comes with three).
Let's start with the positives. The ambiance is nice, clean, and gives you a little taste of New Orleans. The decor is inviting, and the beignets were definitely the highlight of my visit. They were flaky, crispy on the outside, light and layered on the inside, and fried to perfection, not overly doughy. My order was ready in about five minutes, which was also a plus.
Unfortunately, customer service is the reason I'm giving this location 3 stars. This was my second visit, and both experiences felt the same. The employees weren't welcoming, there wasn't much of a greeting, and no one offered to help explain the menu. The interaction felt more like a transaction than genuine hospitality.
The menu itself is also confusing. Beignets aren't listed on the menu board, so if you didn't already know PJ's sells them, you'd never think to order them. A little guidance from the staff would go a long way, especially for first time guests.
One thing I really value is good customer service. I always walk into businesses with a positive attitude, ready to support them, so it's disappointing when employees make customers feel like they're a burden. That kind of atmosphere makes people uncomfortable and ultimately makes them think twice about spending their money there again.
As for the coffee, it was just okay. It was served hot, but there wasn't anything memorable about it, and it didn't taste particularly fresh. One suggestion I'd make is to serve the brewed coffee as soon as it's ready instead of waiting until the beignets are finished. I would have preferred to enjoy my coffee while waiting for the fresh beignets to come out.
Overall, the beignets are absolutely worth trying, and the cafe itself has a nice atmosphere. I just hope this location improves its customer service because a warmer, more welcoming experience would make a huge difference.

PJ’s Coffee offers a wide variety of flavorful sugar-free hot, iced, and blended coffees. And do not skip past the beignets or the turkey and egg english muffin. No competitor comes close. The team is always courteous and helpful. Kudos for an excellent experience during every order.
Great binets and coffee
Don’t buy bagged coffee at this location! It comes taped down and isn’t properly sealed. Our local PJs closed in Mckinney so I drove down to buy bags via the drive through. They checked to see if they had what I requested and said they did. Was taking a long time so they asked me to park in front of the store and they’d bring it out. Confused as to why it would take long, I went out front. After another bit of time I went in. They were just finishing filling the bags and TAPING them shut with masking task. Completely defeats the purpose of buying bagged coffee to use at a later date. Had they mentioned this I would have never purchased FIVE bags at $22+ each.
Our mckinney store and the other store we’ve gone to always have properly sealed bags. Shocked they didn’t disclose this up front. Should be added to training.

This was like my go to PJs location but man, lately no matter what coffee I order it is so hard to stomach I don't know what happened. It is watery and flavorless and it is so disappointing :(

My family and I all got fun drinks that were delicious! My husband got a cinnamon roll that he loved! We also got a box full of beignets that were amazing!
dont value customers. disappointing
I was super excited to come here for the first time, when I walked in nobody acknowledged me at all. It really didn’t bother me at first until like two other people walked in and all of three of them stopped to say GoodMorning, idk just threw me off for first impressions.

Quaint space, nice little coffee shop with a cozy corner to gather. I ordered the iced chai tea with vanilla & cinnamon, it was delicious, my daughter ordered the same drink & a chocolate pastry that we found out comes frozen then heated. I was a little disappointed to hear that, big coffee company without saying names does the same thing but charges as if they were fresh made. This place was a little pricey for my taste.

Sadly this place has become very hit or miss and it’s too expensive to be risking that in this economy. Sometimes the coffee is the great ( Banana Foster is the best on the menu) and then other times you’ll order the same drink and it tastes bitter or way too sweet etc. They’re always out of the banana foster cold brew every time i go now. It was 16 dollars before tip for 2 drinks. One medium one small 😭 who can afford that?? Anyways, i really just don’t recommend it now because you can’t tell when it’ll be good or not it seems they need to retrain their baristas on a consistent way to make the drinks.

I stopped by this drive-thru coffee spot on my way to work, and it was a great start to the day. The line moved quickly, and my order was prepared exactly as requested. The coffee tasted fresh and not overly sweet like some places. Compared to larger chains, this felt more consistent and well made. The staff was friendly even during the morning rush. It’s the kind of place that makes your daily routine a little better. I’ll definitely be making this part of my regular commute.

Nice coffee here - I like how they have so many different cold brew flavors (banana foster is my favorite). Whenever I’m in the area I have to stop by and grab some of their beignets to take home. Definitely recommend.
