The Royal China Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of Chinese cuisine. The service is generally attentive, with staff working hard to keep things moving smoothly, especially during busy times. The restaurant features an open area where customers can watch cooks hand-pull noodles, adding to the lively atmosphere. The menu includes dishes such as soup dumplings, bao buns, shrimp, sizzling rice soups, hand-pulled noodles, lotus blossom tea, eggrolls, spicy wontons, dumplings, stir-fried la mian with pork, dry stirred beef, salt and pepper shrimp, three cup chicken, eggplant basil, and fried rice. Many guests praise the food, noting that it is consistently awesome, with the noodle making during dinner being a sign of great food. The noodles are handmade, and dishes like the spicy wonton stand out as favorites. Customers have enjoyed the small plates, which offer a variety of textures and flavors without feeling overwhelming, and the flavorful dumplings with naturally colored wrappers are also appreciated. The restaurant has a welcoming yet lively vibe, and the drinks are delicious and fruity. It has been a Dallas staple for over 50 years, blending traditional and Americanized Chinese dishes, and also offers options for vegans and dairy-free desserts. Visitors recommend arriving early, especially on weekends, as it can get busy and packed, but wait times are generally manageable. Overall, the Royal China Restaurant is a great spot for Asian cuisine, with tender, juicy, and flavorful dishes that leave customers satisfied and eager to return.
