Our server was great. She's been there for a long time and we always have a great experience with her.
This was our first time to this Dallas gem. It came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Our servers were just the right amount of attentive and they spaced our items out perfectly so we could enjoy the sublime deliciousness. This restaurant does everything right. We got to sit at a cozy table upstairs next to the bar. Can't wait to go back!!!!
The food and experience are always amazing! We love trying new dishes along with our must haves.
Carter and Jenny at the bar offer superior service, and Lanae, the owner, always stop by the table to thank you for coming in. The food is consistently fresh and savory. Don't miss the Chocolate Cake Spring Rolls.
Disappointed with the food quality. I felt like the fried shrimp was something from the freezer section of Costco. Sprouts were Meh. Sashimi did not taste super fresh, but was OK.
The Appetizers , Sushi, and Drinks were amazing, the environment was beautiful and our server was SO sweet and patient
I love Japanese food and have tried it in many countries, including Japan itself. This restaurant is truly delicious — fresh and authentically Japanese. The only small difference is the wasabi, wasn't as spicy. Overall, it’s excellent! The staff are friendly, attentive, and always smiling. We’ll definitely be back again! 🍣✨

Awesome as usual. Ask for the chicken strips. Not on the menu anymore, but best in Dallas. Almost a dessert.
Over the last 8 yrs the quality of the sushi has slowly declined. They have increased the volume of rice and decreased the amount of fish in their sushi. The sashimi sizes have also decreased. The oysters were previously perfect. Now you cannot see the oyster through all the sauce.

Some of the best sushi in DFW. Can be noisy and service often long and choppy. However the food trumps any service issue. Expensive but you get what you pay for
The freshest sushi around. All of the sushi was perfect and delicious. We also love the braised rib potstickers. And the crispy rice with tuna was excellent.
really liked the fresh sushi rolls (the Purple Rain was a standout) and the brussels sprouts were amazing. The cocktails were great too—though it did get a bit loud and the bill added up fast, the food and service made it worth the visit

Always an excellent experience. Food is consistently delicious and service is always amazing. Alfred is the best!!!
I’ve been coming to Shinsei for years; and it’s always a consistent outstanding experience. The best sushi in Dallas!
The reason for my 4 star review and not a five is I find the restroom experience disgusting. I had dinner at the bar a few Saturdays ago and I found the all gender restroom dirty and completely unsanitary with the toilet seat up assuming a man was using it beforehand and urine collected around the floor of the toilet. Step it up Shinsei; keep the restrooms serviced or at least provide separate men and women’s restrooms.
