Not our first visit. The service continues to be excellent. Our server was Tammy, who has served us before. She made several suggestions and as usual, she helped clarify the dishes before ordering. We had several small plates, all were excellent. They included steamed dumplings of the day, short rib potstickers and a salmon sashimi. Other small dishes have also been excellent. Do get reservations. Highly recommended.
Some of the best Sushi in Dallas... so many great Roles. The Peking Duck is also incredible! I also recommend the Dumpling Sampler when available. I prefer the courtyard room as the bar in the main dining room can become crowded, and a bit too noisy for those with hearing aids. The adorable Neko & Inu chopstick holders are for sale... Whenever we bring guests or do Birthdays, we purchased theirs (which are then wrapped in a to-go box) as a memento of their evening.
Shinsei is my wife's absolute favorite restaurant, we go there for almost every special occasion dinner. I always tell people that she would eat every meal there, every day, if she could. That said, her birthday dinner there last night was disappointing. The food was amazing, as always. The service was slow and inattentive throughout the full length of our visit, even though we were sitting directly across from the wait station at the bar. Things like refilling our drinks,...
