First time visiting today and my last!! I ordered bbq plate with brisket and turkey with sweet potatoes and macaroni… first off when ordering I told the young lady sweet potatoes not once but twice,yet I got mashed potatoes….had to go back to get that token care of…asked for bbq sauce on my food, barely any at all so I had to put some on when I got home. Bit into my brisket, nothing but fat!! The turkey and macaroni was fine but for $25 to get nothing but fat meat was a waste of my time and gas because I came from Lewisville to support the business because I haven’t found a good restaurant here yet ,since I moved here… and I ordered a catfish plate….fish was really small ….I feel like I just gave away $50 and sweet potatoes taste like canned yams with a lot of sugar….

Absolutely Exceptional! A Must-Visit BBQ & Comfort Food Gem! If I could give Smokey John’s more than five stars, I would. This was our very first time visiting, and from the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were in for something special. We were warmly greeted by a fantastic young man who clearly takes immense pride in the restaurant and its offerings. When we mentioned it was our first time, he went above and beyond by offering us a sample of the ribs. Wow! Talk about a high-end, premium taste experience right out of the gate. That gesture alone set the tone for the entire meal. We ended up ordering a feast, and to our delight, we learned you can customize your order with combos—like a catfish and rib combo—even if it’s not explicitly listed on the menu. Every single item we had was phenomenal: * **The BBQ Ribs:** Smoky, tender, and incredibly flavorful. * **The Brisket Sandwich:** Perfectly smoked and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. * **The Catfish:** Fried to absolute perfection. * **The Sides:** The greens and string beans were seasoned beautifully, and the macaroni and cheese was pure comfort food heaven. * **The Homemade Peach Cobbler:** The perfect, sweet finale to an amazing meal. Everything was exceptional, authentic, and *sooo* good. Smokey John’s doesn't just serve outstanding food; they serve incredible hospitality. We will absolutely be back!

I’m honestly disappointed to even be writing this review. I decided to grab a BBQ plate here on my birthday, expecting the quality I’ve experienced before, but today I felt completely ripped off. I paid $28.11 for a plate with very small portions of meat. There were more candy yams than the meat I actually came for. The person cutting the meat wasn’t the usual guy, and the portions definitely reflected that. One staff member added just two small spoonfuls of cabbage, and another even went back and added more without me asking. I ordered a smoked plate, not a child-sized portion. As much as I’ve enjoyed the BBQ in the past, this experience has made me decide not to return.

Here from WI visiting, must say this was the Absolute BEST food I have eaten since being here!! I was pleasantly surprised the ribs did not have a heavy smoke taste like the other restaurants around here and the sauce Mmmmm! If you are a BBQ fan and in Dallas I highly recommend trying place! Not to mention one of the owners were there working, that shows the pride they take in thier food!! We need one in Wisconsin!
