Historic, well maintained venue host to themed club nights, dance lessons and more! All wood decor is nostalgic and in good shape. Several outdoor areas for fresh air or escape from the volume. Friendly bar staff during club events. Multi-tiered layout keeps areas defined without overly restricting flow, but may be challenging to physically impaired (likely exempt due to historic status).

Back bar staff created unnecessary issues and escalated problems with bar guests for no reason.
Wildly inappropriate response from a bartender that wasn’t wearing a shirt over an open ice well.
Guests were waiting in line and people in front started an altercation, but instead of identifying the responsible party other people were kicked out and even had the police called.
Unfortunate response from the venue and its staff.
Meanwhile they are over serving guests to the point that they have to be assisted out the door.
This building is magic. I got to get married here a last week, and it was so special and fun. The space itself has so much charm and history, I barely decorated and the pictures came out amazing. It's the perfect Texas dive bar/ballroom/bowling alley dream space.
And the service was beyond wonderful. Amber and her team were so supportive and kind and knowledgeable. I was able to fully turn my brain off and just enjoy the day, and actually be present with my husband and family and friends. From the beginning stages of planning to the execution on the big day, Amber was so helpful and answered all my questions and really saw my vision and brought it to life.
If you want to have a wedding/event with true Texas spirit, and southern hospitality, look no further. Sons of Hermann Hall is your place! Can't wait to spend many years returning to this special space for concerts and dancing.

Dear sons of Hermann did you happen to see the hate speech Bobby Wilbanks put on Facebook? I’m not sure I want to be involved if you tolerate this kind of behavior from your members.

In a touring band that played this venue yesterday. I will say the load-in up the outdoor staircase was BRUTAL, but everything else was quite good! The venue itself was in good condition, with a good PA and kind/helpful staff. The house sound engineer, Kevin, went above and beyond to accommodate the tour's audio setup and nitpicks, and fully delivered.
Not sure how many starts to give for "food" because there was none.

Saw a great concert from one of my favorite songwriters. Quaint and vintage theater. Very intimate atmosphere with the performers. Parking was quite a mess, as expected with downtown Dallas but the walk and pay for parking was worth the concert. We'll be looking at the upcoming bills at this venue. I very much enjoyed it.
