No Longer The Independent - It is now a really cozy and hip Bar and Grill with some of THE BEST Wings in Dallas. Try the rub that is a combo of all of their flavors - I believe it is called The Leftovers or something of that nature....Don't remember the name, but the taste is unforgettable. Good Vibes, Good Food, and a Damn Good Time!

Visited about four, it was not full. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. Bring your hunger - portions are filling. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.

Solid drinks and everyone should come out to Monday nights! Great dj and staff. Mondays after all is for the pros. If this review helped you please thumbs up it. Need to win a bet.

What an awful experience. Came here for a birthday dinner to celebrate before a concert down the road. Bad sign number one was there only being 2 other table of people eating and only 2 staff members visible... they told us we would have to go to the bar to order our meal/drinks, which didn't seem out of the ordinary

The absolute worst place I've visited in this area (Deep Elum) of Dallas. My girlfriend and I stopped by on a Saturday night. The live to get in was slightly annoying as no other locations in the area who were just as busy had a line. No biggie, we waited maybe 10 minutes because the dj was playing really good music. Finally got inside and that's where the problem began. We immediately went to the counter top of the bar. We stood there for at least 25 minutes trying to wait for 3 slow, nonchalant, and seemingly inexperienced bartenders to make there way over. Hell I would have settled for being acknowledged. One guy seemed Hispanic, one girl seemed Asian, but the white girl behind the bar.... She took the freaking cake. She was either drunk, high, or both. She should have been fired. There was no excuse for having her back there and if you go in and see those 3 behind the bar, you better order 2 drinks. God knows you might not get a chance at another round.

My husband and I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, there were about six people at the bar and two bartenders working so it was pretty dead. Before we sat down at the bar, I asked the bartender if it was possible to order a salad with one item omitted (I wasn't sure if they were pre-made) and he said "sure". I ordered the Cobb salad minus the bacon. Eventually a kitchen employee delivered our food but no utensils or napkins. On top of that, the salad had bacon in it. After I told her that I ordered it without bacon, she walked away with the salad and I told the bartender that they had made the salad with bacon, his snarky reply was "How dare they?!". About a minute later the kitchen person came back with the salad. I asked her if they remade it or just picked out the bacon, she said they remade it and walked away. There was still some bacon in the salad so clearly she was lying. When I told the bartender that I didn't think his "How dare they!" comment was appropriate, he threw up his hands and said "It's a bar!" and walked away with my salad. So I watched my husband eat his sandwich, still with no utensils or napkins. About 75% of the way through his sandwich we were able to flag down someone and ask for a napkin. When we asked for our check by having to get up and walk to the other end of the bar, since we couldn't get their attention by waving them down, the bartender brought it and announced that he had taken the salad and a beer off of the bill. I never had one bite of the salad so I'm not sure how he thought this was somehow doing us a favor. We had our cash out and ready to pay and asked for our credit card back and he couldn't find it. After several minutes, he finds it and then charges it. We told him we were paying cash so he supposedly credited us back but who knows. At one point, my husband and I thought we were getting punked because of how awful the service was as well as the attitudes. We wound up going to a place around the corner and getting a salad for me and service with a smile. With so many options in this thriving neighborhood, don't waste your time or money on this place. I waited tables for many years and I can tell you for sure that this place has a lot to learn about service.

There seemed to be no one serving or seating anyone. We waited a long time for someone to tell us where to sit (a cook, who was looking for someone to take a plate to) and then the only server came by 10 minutes later, took our order, and then never refilled our water or came back until she had food in hand (appetizer and food all came at the same time). Then we didn't see her again until we had to flag her down for the check. Food was bland, and tasted frozen/microwaved with hard and chewy bits. My mashed potatoes had something acrid or bitter/rotten mixed in, and my husband's fries were limp and seasonless. The bar was busy though and they seemed to be having a good time. Dunno what was up with this place, but I'm not going back again.

Great place with great jams. Bartenders are also really cool.
