Actually pretty cool place. Easy and woody lodge feel. Nice menu and service was very good. Quiet and comfortable inside and we enjoyed kicking back there. A little more of a wait than I like getting the food, but there was no rush to leave. Cool drink specials and more than just burgers and sandwiches. I don’t think if your on the square there is better.

In Denton for a business meeting, found the Barley & Board and ordered the Roast Chicken with a superior Au Jus, asparagas and petite white & black roasted potatoes, all in one bowl at a very nice price below $20. Best chicken ever eaten as well as the terrific bowl additions. Can't wait to go back. The beer choice and great taps also a major plus. Fine service toto Bruce W from San Antonio

The service was good, the food was excellent. Had the salmon which was very good. A little noisy so don't think you are going to go for a quiet, romantic dinner. My friend had the burger that looked great. It came with really think fries which were really good.

It's "fine". The menu is expensive for what it is. I've read rumors online of poor treatment of employees. It's nice to go to once in a while if you're tired of the other venues in Denton, and have some extra money to blow, but definitely not a "must try".

There were people waiting for tables so we ate at the bar and had a good experience. The bartender was very busy but our food and drink orders were quickly turned around. The burger was particularly delicious. If you are a beer-drinker, there are many local brews on tap.

Just want to give the Denton location a "Shout Out". My wife and I drive here from Keller for the great food and Awesome service. We visited this past Saturday night and warmly greeted as usual. We always sit at the bar. Mateo took great care of us serving some superior food and drink. Sherry the Manager made a point to stop by and check on things. We feel like family every time we visit this location. Can't wait for our next visit.

It is conveniently right on the square. Food is delicious, and well presented. I think it's a nice intimate place to go with someone who you're looking to actually catch up with.
Still a very good option when I am downtown for a visit with friends and family; I think it's pretty cool at most times of the year, but I think it's going to be very difficult to get a seat during the holidays. I think I need to help them out with business at any time of the year, so I think it's worth a try. Cheers, Mark F.

Wife had the sugar Old Fashioned and I had a Cabernet. Both very good. We split a Risotto and a Board that had Gorgonzola, Cheddar, and Pastrami. All were excellent! We loved this place!!! and on the cute Denton square. Reasonable prices, great food, and cool atmosphere. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

The Al Pastor and drinks is a fantastic happy hour! We love the burger, the sandwiches, the boards, the hummus tray, and the soups and salads- They have great deals on drinks at happy hour until 6 during the week-

Denton's hidden gem. You don't have to drive to uptown or downtown Dallas for delicious gourmet cuisine and craft cocktails with a cozy atmosphere. This place is great for date night or hanging with your friends and family alike. Mike was our server and he knows the menu well, providing excellent choices. The pork tenderloin was so mouthwatering and full of flavor, served on a bed of amazing elote. Yum. Add this one to your list. You're welcome :)
