Trattoria Lisina

I went to Trattoria Lisina yesterday to celebrate my birthday with some friends. There were 11 of us in total. The food was good, but they really need to improve their customer service. The host who greeted us was very rude. In a loud, blunt tone, he told us that they would make an exception that day by pushing the tables together so we could all sit together, but that it would never happen again. I've never been to a place where you're willing to spend your money and the staff acts like it's a problem because you brought too many guests. Because of that, I can't recommend this restaurant. If it weren't for the great company of my friends, my birthday celebration this year would have been very disappointing.

It was my second time at Lisina, and my first experience was flawless. However, this time, we felt wronged by the place. It was my wife's birthday and we were on a party of 11. It's not possible to book more than 10 guests online, so I tried calling the restaurant and they said I needed to split into two different bookings. I also asked if we could bring a cake, and the answer was yes. So ww split it into two bookings but when we arrived at the place, I asked again if we could all seat together and the people at the front desk said that they could make it work, they just needed a few moments. After a while, a different person, probably the duty manager, came to me and said that they were going to make an exception and put a table together for all of us. Wonderful, if only for the fact that he decided to scold me jn front of our friends, telling me not to expect this kind of thing in the future, because they were not going to make it again. Unnecessary. Once inside, they did exactly what I asked on the phone: added an extra chair at the end of a 10 seat table. The whole process took roughly 30 minutes, which is a lot of time to add one chair to a table in a big room that had at least 20 other tables, none of them occupied, we were the only guests in the room. Near the end of the dinner, our waiter came to me and said that they would charge a $2.50 fee for the cake, per person. They somehow failed to tell me that over the phone, so what I was to do then? I agreed, because I didn't want to disrupt my wife's day, and ended up paying $25 to have the cake served. All in all, it's not something that's unforgivable, but it definetly ruined the experience. I won't reccomend dinning there if you are in a big party, it's not worrhy the trouble.

Food is always made well and tastes great! The homemade gelato was awesome. along with the affogato were a great dessert.

We were a party of three. We each had a different meal. All three were excellent. The waiter did a very thorough job. There when there was a need or drinks getting low. The kind of server you wish you have every time. Portions were more than adequate. Price was fair for what you got but this good should not be expected to be cheap.

Very kind staff and the exterior of the property is beautiful but the interior and the food felt less like a unique experience and more like a Maggiano's that was just harder to drive to.

My soon-to-be girlfriend highly recommend that we go to this place and I was not disappointed. The staff was amazing. Food was even better. Definitely is on par with a lot of the restaurants in downtown Austin. If you like a gorgeous atmosphere and great wine/food I definitely would check this place out.

Trattoria Lisina was a wonderful dining experience. The food was flavorful and delicious, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, and our waitress provided outstanding service that made the meal even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!

The food was really great, “heavy” for a summer afternoon but really terrific. Our server was very good. Kind, attentive and super engaging! One of the best we've have since we moved to ATX 5 years ago

I’ve been enjoying Trattoria Lisina for many years and it is always such a delight to realize that one of your favorites is getting even better with time.

Our perfect evening last night began with being seated at our requested table on the perimeter of the restaurant that has better acoustics so we could focus on our conversation. Colton V. was a wonderfully attentive waiter and never got impatient with us even though we tied up the table for close to 4 hours.

For appetizers we had the Caprese salad featuring tender burrata and the carpaccio that is thinly sliced with just the right amount of accouterments. For entrees we had taglierini alla portofino, lasagna, and veal Marsala. Each was so delicious we eagerly shared with each other. For dessert we shared torta cioccolato con caramello, a rich chocolate cake and the special featured cheesecake which was luxurious and lemony.

Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a weeknight for catching up with friends.

Kadence was a breath of fresh air! She was the best server I have had in a very long time. Professional and very well spoken and a little sarcastic - which was very refreshing. Had a great time, will be back for sure! #RobberBarons
