Great food is found back behind Dollar General. If you want some savory fresh ground beef for your burger, skip the Whataburger nearby. The French fries were savory. The fried fish was light and nicely fried. My 11 yr old prioritized the fried okra over finishing his fish so my wife and I helped. It was the small catfish plate but had a generous amount of fish. Mae's meat market was suggested to me by a local as an excellent place to eat, and boy did it deliver! It's behind the dollar general, and the first thing I noticed was how packed the parking lot was at lunch (always a good sign). My colleagues and I ended eating both lunch and dinner here multiple days in a row because everyone was so happy with the food. They have daily specials that change for lunch and dinner.
