My wife has family in El Campo and grew up going there, but we never knew about Emil's place! We are so glad we found it on our last visit. What a great place! The atmosphere and service and food are all the best! So cute and good food! The staff is so sweet and welcoming too! The owner came out and spoke with us and gave us a sample of delicious sweet potato pie with pecans and ice cream! Worth the drive to El Campo ❤️

Every town needs a place like THIS!!!! Such a great environment with history and so many meal options! Do not let the exterior of this place fool you… It is MUCH bigger inside for that large group setting!! Our crew had the patty melt, frito pie burger & regular cheese burger (on sourdough). All of them were huge portions. Onion rings & fries were ?! The best part of the entire lunch was learning the history of Emil’s & “Fritz” along with the creamsicle shake!!!...
