The food was good, I was expecting to be blown away from all the hype but no, good but not spectacular. However, for as busy as it was, service was excellent! Didn't wait long at all for my dinner and my server was very nice!
I wasn't a big fan of L&J's for many years, and because of that, I hadn't been there in many years. We just went for lunch and I was very surprised at how good the food was. We will definitely be going back.
Oh by the way, we had to come back to try this restaurant today. Two days ago, the 1.5 hr wait was too long because of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. For our first time at L & J Cafe, we enjoyed chili con queso, green chile enchiladas, Mexican combination and Caldo de Res. It was worth coming back.
