Matsuharu Japanese Restaurant

I’ve been coming here for quite a couple of years now and love it every time. Truly never gets tiring, this place it another second home. The atmosphere is so cozy and almost like a hidden treasure feeling. After going to Japan and coming back the flavor is very much authentic. It is also a one person show when they are creating every dish, that makes it possible for quite a wait. But even the wait is worth it every time, in my experience i feel euphoric every time I eat their food and comfort like a hug. Almost truly makes me cry of joy. The service is always on point and are always very quick and funny. If you go here please have the patience and compassion for the servers and the cook. Even if it takes long it’s always worth it. To be updated always check their facebook page, they are always active and let everyone know for any schedule changes.

Food is really good unfortunately there is always too many people and few people attending. It is really good If you don’t matter to wait sometimes more than an hour.

Wanted to update this review to say the food is still wonderful and delicious! The feel of a real Izakaya is as close as you can get here in El Paso! The bowls are about 15-16$ with non soup choices as well! PLEASE be aware that wait times can vary when there is large groups or full seats! I PROMISE the wait is worth it!

I will preface by saying that when we went it was only one cook and one wait staff but they did a great job with how busy it got. The food was cooked to order so it did take a while with only one cook, but it was well worth the wait. Patience is key

My husband & I tried to come here three times but each time they were closed even though google said they were open. My advice to anyone who wants to eat here is to check their Facebook page before going to confirm that they’re open. All this to say that it was worth the wait. The service was excellent and food was delicious! Everything we tried was so so good. Our server was super friendly and made great recommendations. Highly recommend coming here for ramen!

This place has not disappointed ever since I started going some years back. The staff is always nice and quite honestly this is the best local Japanese food I’ve had. Do keep in mind the waiting for food is a bit longer than normal however it is definitely worth it.

The food is phenomenal, truly the most authentic Japanese cuisine in town. The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
