“I posted a Google review and the restaurant responded but I can't respond back to them on Google, so here's me response: Don't try to blame delivery for your weird rubbery eggs and half cooked potatoes. When I sent a picture of the food to people, the response from most of them was something along the lines of "those are eggs?!" And I didn't say you used boxed pancake mix, I specifically accused you of using boxed confetti cake mix (without the confetti) for your pancakes. It smells exactly the same and I couldn't take more than 1 bite because they were so disgusting. Here is my original review: I got food through Uber. The egg scramble tasted good but the texture was rubbery. The potatoes were only half way cooked so they were soft on the outside and dense on the inside. The pancakes were flat and absolutely disgusting. Somehow they taste like Tylenol... Have no idea how that happens. We ordered orange juice and strawberry lemonade, and the lemonade was missing but that could have been a delivery issue. Edit: I figured out why the pancakes taste so off. They were made with store bought cake mix. They smell exactly like the store bought confetti cake powder. And here is their response: Good Morning Stephanie, I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your take out meal. I can understand that you may not like the taste of our pancakes but I can assure you we do NOT use store bought pancake mix for our pancakes. Unfortunately, once the order leaves our restaurant we can't control what happens to it or how long it takes to get delivered to you which can affect the quality of the meal. Thanks so much for your understanding.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit to Ascension coffee! Me and some friends gave it a try for brunch. This is in a hip shopping area on the Trinity River. Parking was tricky, but there is free valet parking. We did have to wait to be seated, but they have seating areas outside until your table is ready.
Ascension has a pretty good menu for a place that has COFFEE as the main signage outside. I had no idea of the various beverages and food items they offer.
This is not just a cute spot though, my food was terrific! I had the avocado toast with poached eggs, a side of crispy bacon, and a carafe of mimosas. The avocado toast was perfectly made, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, my bacon was crispy just as I requested, and the mimosas were tasty!
The restaurant itself was brightly lit, clean, and inviting.
The service was outstanding! The server did not miss a heartbeat! Outstanding! We will definitely be returning!“

“I come to this place 2-3 times per week. Never disappoints. Steph, Britt, Chris, Ryan, Olivia, Alexa, KC, and many others do a great job of maintaining a comforting atmosphere while still putting out a great product. 10/10 would highly recommend this place to anyone that likes food.“
