we ordered to go, seemed to be cooked fresh. I think grease in fryer was on its last leg. didn't have a clean taste. Still better then most. little pricey would be worth it, if they used a little larger size bird.

Very disappointed and frustrated. Came in tonight with 2 small children and ordered 3 kids meals after waiting for awhile I asked for the drinks which I thought was included. Once asking I was told no drinks come with the kids meals if not dining in. My only problem was that I was never informed of that before paying $40. While ordering I was never asked was the order for dine in or to go. The guy saw how frustrated I was and never made it right nor apologized about the miscommunication. I’ve been eating Gus’s for awhile not only the ones in Texas but in Memphis and St. Louis as well. I will never patronize them again due to a small problem that could have been fixed.

I’m familiar with this place from one of their previous locations in Nashville well over 10 years ago, i was excited to see it here in DFW, it had been over 10 years since i got to taste it again, and it didn’t disappoint. It tasted exactly like I remembered from Nashville, The chicken is uniquely fried, blended with a great mix of spices for great flavors and a little heat. This is a good definition of southern comfort food. Their sweet tea, and Cole slaw are great! Worth a visit, it was a great mom and pop atmosphere, and the service is very friendly.

I honestly try to give this place so many chances and they never fail to disappoint.. cold hard dry chicken and slow service. I waited 40 min for my food yet to go orders were on point. I over heard my waiter ask the cook where our order was and was told What do you want me to do about it.. Never again will I go back to this establishment due to lack of customer service and low quality food.. if you love cold hard chicken and beans outta of a can and not worth the $$$ then this is the place for you ?Good luck getting Food Poisoning

Chicken left a lot to be desired. Dry, overcooked. No variety of sauces, not even bbq? Server was attentive almost to the point of being pushy.

I got the 3 piece dark meal. The chicken is small, I dont see how theyre serving those tiny pieces of chicken to hungry people. Chicken leg was the size of my big toe. Chicken Thighs were smaller than the palm of my hand (and im a lady!). Chicken was spicy (no mild option) and dry. I didn't even know dark meat could be dry! My mom got the three piece white and the breasts are decent sizes but the chicken wing had less meat on it than the toe-sized chicken leg.The sides are all bland. I’ve never had dry cole slaw before coming to this place. Baked beans are straight out of the can. Not a pinch of salt on the collard greens. Canned nacho cheese on the mac and cheese. There’s no parking for this place.I don’t see how this place has so many good reviews.Positive: Customer service was great!

Service was pretty good but the food got worse every time we came back, at first it was decent for the price and the last time we got it the chicken might as well as been cremated. Fries and greens are good, Mac and cheese are alright and the bread is just wonder bread. Over all they have gone done and would not go back.Parking: There isn’t really any parking besides the street and the other restaurant next to it and last time I went one of the other lots near it was paid
