We were not impressed by the food. I had the Enchiladas Rojas & my Sister had the Birria Tacos. My Enchiladas were bland & cold. We did enjoy the Queso appetizer. The service was great all around the staff was very attentive. The drinks were great.
Excellent service! Made my birthday extra special with a margarita and birthday dessert. Chips are served with two salsas and a delicious dip with beans and meat. Best margaritas! Tasty brisket tacos. We will definitely be eating there again.
Food, drinks and service were excellent. The green salsa was spicy and very flavorful. We loved it and wish we could've taken some home.
My wife and I visited La Cabrona Cocina on the 28th, and the experience absolutely lived up to the hype—bold flavors, thoughtful plating, and a menu that feels both elevated and authentic. Jennifer our waitress and the entire staff were amazing! We started with the Queso Blanco (10/10) and added chorizo and roasted poblano peppers, which took it to another level. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced—comfort food done right. The Ceviche a la Cabrona was fresh and vibrant, with fish and shrimp cured in lime juice alongside cucumber, cherry tomatoes, radish, red onion, and cilantro, finished with sliced avocado. Bright, clean, and refreshing—exactly what ceviche should be. We also enjoyed the Cabrona House Salad, which paired beautifully with the Asado de Puerco. The pork was tender and deeply flavorful, simmered in a red sauce and served with Mexican rice and beans. The avocado lime vinaigrette and queso Chihuahua tied everything together nicely without overpowering the dish. The Mexican Cobb Salad was hearty and well-constructed, but the standout entrée for me was the Pulpo a la Parrilla. The grilled octopus was expertly cooked—charred, tender, and full of flavor—served with spicy cambray and queso fresco. Easily a highlight of the night. For drinks, my wife really enjoyed La Sandía, which was refreshing, well-balanced, and a perfect complement to the meal. Overall, La Cabrona Cocina delivers a confident, flavorful dining experience with excellent execution across both food and cocktails. We'll definitely be back.
It is the cutest place. We loved the decor and patio. The food was kind of expensive for average Mexican food. The churros were the crowning moment. May be the best I have had.
We had a reservation and when we arrived we were told the kitchen was backed up and that we would need to wait. We waited about 15 minutes. No big deal initially, the restaurant is super cute. We sit down and it takes awhile to even receive water. We ask a guy standing around and he hands us a pitcher of water, doesn't say anything. We finally are able to order appetizers. The waitress spills half of the queso on my husbands back! She doesn't bring us a new one or bring a manager over or anything. We were floored. Overall, food is okay, service was not great. Likely won't go back again.
They were having some growing pains the night we dined here but the food was great and the server was very good about communicating why the service was slow. I'd go back!
Decent rendition of mexican cuisine. Pink tortillas turned me off, mole was eh, and both appetizer salsas were hot af.
I was excited to give this place a try when I found it amongst the sea of Mexican restaurants in the downtown area of Fort Worth. I loved the name and figured it would be a great place for a girls night out. I made reservations for 6:15 and had zero issues when I got there (Which by the way parking is a little meh. Both my friend and myself lucked out on finding parking spaces that didn't require a meter, but if you can't find one, you will have to pay $20 for the garage or pay $6 for a meter). Walking up I was impressed by how aesthetic this place was! It's truly a really beautiful space with vibrant colors, fun Latino flare and awesome murals inside - not to mention the music they played was such a vibe. I didn't like how the hostess placed me initially in the back at a corner table right up on a wall with a wobbly table. I asked to move to the table next to me while I waited for my friend to get there. Our server was nice. I did get some chips and salsa of which the red salsa was tomato based and was good, the green was excessivelyyy salty. I did try the queso and added chorizo, actually wasn't too bad. Finally my friend got there and I ordered a frozen margarita (strawberry and Mango) which was good and I ordered the Quesabirria tacos, which were alright. Tasted good and the 3 they gave was filling. Wasn't a fan of the rice, the peas are random for me, but the softness of thr rice was good. As for the desert? Horrible. I LOVE tres leches, it's literally my favorite cake - This one wasn't the best one, it tasted like a watered down ice cream cone that you get from restaurants - yuck. I had to send it back after the first bite and got the churros instead, which were better than expected. Nothing special. Maybe I came on an "off" night, but not sure I'd go back for the food to give it another try - if anything I'd go back for the aesthetics, that's literally it! It's the perfect place for selfies and vlogging just not the best for solid Latino cuisine.
Service was great and food was really really good. Appetizer servings were very generous and alcoholic drinks were delicious as well!
Restaurantji Recommends
It was my first time here and I must say i enjoyed everything about it from the atmosphere and drinks to the food. I ordered the steak quesadilla and the steak was one of the most flavorful I've had. I would come back 100% and highly recommend.
Not the best experience, unfortunately. From the moment I walked in the hostess and waitstaff weren't the most friendly/welcoming. I waited almost 10 minutes before a waitress even greeted me. She too was not very friendly or helpful. Everyone that works there appears to be pretty young and just doesn't seem to care. The restaurant itself and ambiance is nice. We ordered guacamole and the flauta's for the table. The flauta's were good but the guacamole had absolutely no flavor and tasted synthetic. I had the shrimp tacos, which left a lot to be desired. My husband had the Asado de Puerco which was the saving grace. It was terrific! The tortillas and rice also leave a lot to be desired. Not sure we will go back unless my husband is in the mood for the Asado de Puerco. This is a bummer because I was really looking forward to it and wanted to like it
The restaurant has a great atmosphere. The menu was very unique and we had five in our party and we all felt the food was average. The shrimp tacos were very skimpy on the shrimp and the shrimp were tiny. The tortilla soup was very tasty with lots of vegetables but very little broth.
I was very impressed with this restaurant! It's more Mexican than TexMex and sometimes I want that change. They give you salsa, spicy Verde sauce AND this bean/beef mixture with chips for FREE!!! With that alone we really didn't need an appetizer. I had the grilled octopus which was cooked perfectly and it came with a spicy potato side item that was really good!
It was our first time, but will not be our last! The food was incredible and so was the service.
