The perfect small town cafe experience. I was only visiting Fort Worth for a couple of days for a concert, and all I wanted was a good, simple, down-home breakfast, and that's exactly what I got at the Montgomery Street Cafe! The scrambled eggs were just right, the bacon was crispy, and the hash browns were awesome! And the atmosphere was equally great, my kind of place! Last year in Houston, I stayed in a 5-star hotel and ate breakfast in the restaurant there, and it wasn't nearly as good as this place. The food at Montgomery Street Cafe reminded me of how my mom would make breakfast back home in Indiana. :)

I had breakfast here yesterday and let me tell you it’s one of the best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time! Everything tasted great! The eggs actually had flavor, the bacon had flavor the gravy was perfect. My entire meal was around $8 bacon, eggs, a pancake biscuits and gravy and orange juice. I live three blocks from Paris coffee shop and I will gladly be driving to Montgomery St. Café for now on. Paris tastes like hospital food compared to Montgomery St. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed by the service or the food.

First of all, let me explain why I have given this little café such a low rating. Their food is good, but it is very pricey what I did not appreciate was when I walked in I looked around and waited to see if somebody would seat me, but they didn’t so I sat down myself, then other people came in right behind me and the waitresses went over there to them, sat them down and brought them coffee without them even asking for it. After that another couple came in and they sat down and they were serve coffee when I had sat my own self down , because that same waitress looked at me and didn’t even sit me down. It took about 30 minutes for me to get my breakfast when the other two people that were behind me got their breakfast way ahead before me that was not right I realize if you’re not a regular customer they don’t really acknowledge you, but if you are a regular customer there, they treat you like you’re a king and a queen.

Well, let me tell ya 'bout Montgomery Street Cafe down in Fort Worth, Texas. Been grubbin' on their fixin's since '79. Many many years ago, I asked her to never give me the recipe to the bread pudding. She said, "never give it to you"? I said, yes, because I would be so big I wouldn't be able to get out the door! Now, they got these hours, bless their hearts - crack of dawn 'til 2 PM from Thursday to Wednesday, 'cept Sundays, when they take a well-deserved rest. Montgomery Street Cafe, it's more than a place to eat; it's where memories are made over grits and gravy. If you haven't been, you're missin' out on a slice of Fort Worth's heart and soul. Can get a little bit busy around the stock show .

Never have I ever eaten in a "small town" diner like this with roughly sixteen tables and a counter. The place looks frozen in time but is so cozy and welcoming. The staff is a dream and the food is delicious. I raved the entire meal about the coffee because it was absolutely fantastic and my cup never went cold due to our attentive server. We were in town for a concert and very I'm glad we were able to snag a meal here. Hours are Monday to Friday from 6am-2pm & Saturday 7am-12pm & I believe closed on Sundays. They take credit/debit cards and cash. I am unsure of other forms of payment. If you're ever in town stop by because you will not regret it.

It was an OK place to eat. Food wasn't bad and I know everyone has their own ways of doing things. I will be glad when my Favorite place Opens back up.
