Taste Community Restaurant is known for its amazing service and food, earning a 5-star rating for its atmosphere. The volunteer staff is friendly and welcoming, providing incredible meals. The restaurant operates on a "pay what you can" basis, allowing guests to choose what they feel the meal is worth. Their seasonal menus feature dishes. As a non-profit organization, the restaurant is run partly by chefs in training under the guidance of certified chefs, making it a supportive place to donate and volunteer. Visitors often comment on the inclusive environment and the high-quality food served. The space is nice and clean with a small garden in the back. The majority of the staff are volunteers with exception of the manager and chef. All of the dishes had were light and filling with the right amount of flavor. Taste is a full service, non-profit restaurant that serves good food. All guests choose what they want to pay: what they would normally pay for their meal at another place, pay more, or pay less. No matter who you are or where you are in life's journey, you are welcome at TASTE. The mission of TASTE is to build and support community through providing meals of exceptional culinary and nutritional quality. There is a reason TASTE is constantly showing up on "best places to eat" lists in DFW. At TASTE, you will see people of all walks of life participating in a unique and amazing experience, shaped by the values of TASTE founders, and upheld by the volunteers who make it all work. When you come in, you will be treated the same as everyone else: as a human being deserving of dignity, respect, inclusion, and community, and entitled to a high-quality meal that you will love. This place is amazing! You pay what you have or pay what you think the food is worth. Definitely a variety of different kind of people go there. Make sure to set an appointment online though (it's $1 fee) to ensure you have a time to sit. Otherwise you might be waiting for a while or they won't accept anyone else cause there's a long wait list. Parking is available on the street and location is pretty close to several businesses and hospitals. The portions are decent sizes which allowed us to split the dishes and still feel satiated.
