This place had been a favorite of ours for years, with our last visit in 2018. We drove out in August 2021 to find that it was closed, so I checked the website on this trip (May 5, 2023) to see that reservations were required. Made reservations and we were sadly disappointed! Winery is for sale (for 6 years now per the owner) and the wine tasting was for wines that have been in stock since 2019 or prior, with nothing new made in many years. Only one of our group of 4 did the tasting due to the wine selections in the tasting, so it was a total waste of time for our group to travel out that far for the experience we got. The tasting room hasn’t been updated in years and felt dark and dirty, with for sale or sold signs on things sitting around inside. The owner is super nice, but you can tell that her mind is on retirement and she has no desire to make the experience enjoyable. She opens and closes when we she wants to…not sure why she’s even open anymore except to get rid of the stock she still has at a cheap price. Save your time and choose another place that offers a much better experience.
Won't take a group of 15 even though there was only the bartenders in bar and no other reservations booked for the day
There website is very confusing. Went out there anyways... closed. Only open I guess by reservation only. They don't answer there phone, so no help there. I hate it, this was my favorite... my maiden name is Chisum, so I really wanted to experience it again:(
Ghost Rider all the way!!!
Awesome wines, ambiance and the friendly staff. Could have stayed longer if only I had access to an Uber!
This winery is awesome the wine was amazing we brought our 2 toddlers in and they had a blast danving on the stage and playing checkers! Thank you so much for the hospitality and sweet memories made.
We were so suprised to find this winery out in the middle of no where (we're from the east coast). Mike was a great host. He explained all our wines in the tasting. The wines were so good. I loved the Viognier full of flavor. All the wines we tasted were equally as good. The place looks like it would be a great place to sit back shoot pool, listen to music and eat pizza. So much character!!!! We would definitely go back!!!
Authentic Texas winery. Excellent award winning wines. Cozy atmosphere that is kid & pet friendly. Beautiful views & winery greeters in the form of miniature donkeys & longhorns. Sip wine, listen to music, eat gourmet handcrafted pizza and play pool. A favorite spot in Fredericksburg!
Nice facility, good wine, and staff. plus 3 precious burros/donkey. Very peaceful and relaxing. Have Brick oven pizza made there on weekends.
Two stars only because it is a cool location and atmosphere. But... Awful wines. I rarely give poor ratings. I would not come back here. One wine tasted like nail polish remover.

Did a quick little drop by and enjoyed the sweet wines for an hour. Took the little one to see the animals outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. The property is nice, like a rustic style restaurant inside. No pizza oven on the day we came, so we didn't try the food. Would return for the wines!
Kid Friendly! Love the donkeys! Excellent wines! Friendly folks!
The power was out and they had to close. We did not even get inside. Enjoyed the donkeys though.
Bit of a scenic drive to get here but worth it. We were here in April with the Passport Tour (our first time) and returned in September for another tasting and to buy more wine. Tasting room is comfortable and pleasant - has a rustic feel to it. People are friendly. The wines were great - and we bought some. Lone Wolf (Lenoir grape), Pinot Grigio were our favorites. Burros and donkeys nearby.
Really enjoyed the scenic drive to get to this place. Upon arrival the sight of this rustic facility was very appealing. Once inside we decided upon a tasting and wandered about the facility. Wines were very good and the Western Art and decor that adorned the walls truly enhanced the overall atmosphere. Would visit again!!
