Went to the restaurant for lunch. Nice atmosphere/ambiance. Ordered schnitzel with salad and side. Salad was crisp and delicious, schnitzel was tasty, huge portions, sauerkraut and red cabbage very good. We have had German food before and this was great. Service excellent. Very pleased and will return.

This place is amazing!! Food is real German food the same chef has been there for many years. The portions are huge so make sure you are hungry and save room for dessert. The staff always meets you with a smile and goes beyond to make sure your dining experience is wonderful. I first went here in winter of 1994 I am not local 5 hours away and took a trip this past weekend just to go to Friedhelms.Food & drinks: The food is amazing! The cabbage soup is a must. They have a full bar ? many mixed drinks to choose and wine ?.

My experience with this restaurant was very good! The schnitzel and the wursts were very good and flavorful! The creme brulee was the best one I had ever had! The chocolate cake was very rich and the apple strudel reminded me of red licorice. The service was equally as good, we came in twice over two different days and they remembered us! Mint came on the creme brulee and I wanted it to make hot tea at the hotel room, and we asked for more and they gave us an entire stem! Very clean restaurant too. Overall a very good experience that everyone should try if you are in town!

Didn't stay at the inn, just ate in the restaurant. Had different sausages, cabbage soup, snitzels, and spaetzle. Everything was very good and the service was great. My only critique would be the spaetzle was a tad buttery, I should've got some mushroom gravy or something for it.

Cannot even rate this restaurant as the service was so bad that we left. We waited over 5 minutes before a sullen young gal seated us. We hadn’t seen a soul until she appeared. Once seated, we were cold due to a fan blowing on us, so asked to be moved. One server said, “Really?”. I thought customers were to be accommodated cheerfully. After all, where does the paycheck come from? Once moved, we sat for almost 10 minutes without having anyone make contact with us. The table next to us were seated when we arrived, and they did not yet have water, nor had they ordered. Therefore, we left and cannot comment on the food. It appeared one waitress was working very hard, the other, a blonde, seemed to be walking around checking settings on empty tables. So, avoid poor service by not going. At least on a Wednesday evening.

Rating the restaurant only. Food was marginally ok. Schnitzel is sub par and on the greasy side. Spaetzle is good. Red cabbage and sauerkraut was ok. Server was ok, though he seemed pre occupied. All in all a very middle of the road German restaurant. I'd recommend if your looking for exceptional you try another spot. I'm not price sensitive but prices are inflated because of the tourist trade, but it should be because of elevated quality. They are shortcutting to increase output because they know they'll get one meal from most patrons. Get what you can from the customer and send them back home. Definitely not where the locals eat.

Waited 25 minutes to be seated. Waited 35 minutes and never got our drinks. We left. Don't know about the food because the service was so bad. I don't mind waiting as long as I am being served drinks and bread. Got nothing. Would not recommend this place and definitely will not go

The schnitzel was good but the potato skins were gross. One of the potatoes tasted like dish detergent. I don’t know how they wash their produce but it tasted like soap. Overall pretty good but definitely better before they closed for 3 years. They have lost that special touch and passion in their food. A bit bummed, I took my husband to that spot for Valentine’s Day bc that’s where we had our first date 7 years ago. Disappointed
